Liked: Location was great. The room was small and dark. The room was right off the pool and so the one window in the room was frosted for privacy, so it made the already dark room even darker. Since I was in a bottom floor room, I could hear people walking above me from very early in the morning ( lots of creaking). The bed was comfortable. The pool was nice and the staff was very friendly. I liked that they offered coffee and a complimentary scone (even had a gluten-free one for me), but unfortunately, the coffee was luke warm. Overall, there were a lot of positives, but the small, dark room made it so I didn’t want to be in it. I am sure if I had a room on the upper level ( with a real window) my experience would have been better.

Liked: We were there in the off-season (March), so there were fewer staff and hotel guests. We practically had the pool and hot tub to ourselves, which was unexpected and relaxing. I am sure the vibe is great in the summer, but the outdoor bar was closed, and there were few amenities available at this time of year. Johnny's bar is part of the building, and it was a great place to hang out late. This historic hotel is right on the main street, so very walkable to all the restaurants and shopping.
Disliked: I was very disappointed with the first room they gave us on the second floor. It overlooked a rooftop with air conditioning units that provided no 'pleasing view' at all. They did move us. The two rooms I saw were not as luxurious as any of the ones that appeared in the photos-so those must be the suites? There are lots of stairs to the second floor, which could be an issue for people.

Liked: National Register hotel with a feel from a different era. Big room with king size bed. Really quiet which was most relaxing.
Disliked: Parking was tricky and our room view north was next to a bar
