Motel 6-Missoula MT - University

Staff was helpful in replacing the phone that didn't work and the bedspread that had holes and stains. Despite requesting double occupancy there was only one bed (I guess they assumed we were fine with sleeping together?). The wind howled all night from the large gap under the door. There was no alarm clock, pictures on the walls or carpeting. The TV did not work correctly despite staff's best efforts. Very pleasant staff. Very dismal hotel.

Liked: Staff.
Disliked: TV didn't work correctly. Bedspread needed to be changed out (holes and stains). No carpet. Wide gap under door let wind howl.

Staff friendly

Liked: I loved the staff Pam and Crystal were great, they were friendly, helpful and a complete joy.. my aunt worked for motel six many years ago and we have stayed in several over the years all in all the best part of our stay was the staff.
Disliked: The rooms we wound up having to take to be neat each other had no microwave, on coffee pot and no fridge even one of those things would have been nice. They had one tiny bar of soap for each room no shampoo or conditioner one roll of toilet paper and only a set of towels. We had 4 people staying in each room. But the rooms were clean.

Disliked: Very, very dirty, staff not available when needed, have to ask for ice, very outdated, only booked because we needed beds and got a super low rate, but if we had been charged the $200 a night rate I would have walked out and demanded a refund.

Disliked: To basic for price, no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee machine.

I would go there again.

Liked: Great location for me, close to both downtown and the U. Big room with everything I needed.
Disliked: Some confusion at the beginning because a manager had just walked away, but one of the staff had stepped up and was keeping things running. Road noise.

Liked: I liked the location. Close to historic district
Disliked: Room was dirty and the morning staff was late in getting coffee ready.

Helpful Clerk Saved the Day...

Liked: The motel itself was basically a convenient stopover on our way to Wyoming. We were looking forward to using its kitchenette, but when we got there, the mini fridge was missing. We were counting on having one & it turned out that there were no other rooms, with a fridge, that were available. This is where Dan, the front desk clerk, shone, however. He was persistent in trying to solve the problem & between the two of us we worked it out that he'd give us as much ice as we needed to put in our cooler to keep our food cold. He had a really good attitude about trying to help make our stay as comfortable as possible; given the circumstances. He wanted us to know that we should let him know if there was anything that we needed. I would give him a ten, if I could.
Disliked: Along with the missing fridge, there was also a broken florescent light above the vanity sink. It seemed like the room had had a few updates, but it still needed some work to improve it. It was basically clean, but it could have used a good deep clean.

Great location with walking distance...

Liked: The hotel advertise breakfast and there was none no no
Disliked: Air condition was not blowing cold air at all so my room was warm

I had a good stay...

Liked: They didn't have breakfast, just coffee. It tasted pretty good. The room was fairly clean and I had a fridge and microwave, which I liked. The t.v. was o.k. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a good stay and I appreciate that the staff was nice.
Disliked: It's an old motel and can use some updating. I was expecting it to be a little cleaner and nicer but it was fair. At least everything worked. There were some noisy guests one night and they threw a beer bottle and made a mess all over the sidewalk but an employee was cleaning it up fairly early the next morning. The wifi worked but it faded in and out quite a bit and that was a little frustrating. It's a Motel 6, so I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel but the motel could use a little love and some updating.
