Motel 6-Atlanta GA - Downtown

OK, first off, you need to know a few things. One: they say free parking but they lie. There's a parking fee just to park in their parking lot in front of your room. Second, the deposit. So they hit you up (after you have already paid by the way) for a 150 dollar deposit. I offered to pay in cash and they said 'no, it has to be on the credit card. And it will take 7-10 days for reimbursement'. So what would have been a sweet deal at 70 dollars a night actually doubles (then add the parking fee). The room: TV turned off exactly every hour on the hour. The 'blankets' on the bed were no more than 2 light sheets and a very thin top cover. The microwave was tiny (could barely fit a slice of pizza), and the fridge was not even cold, but at least we had one. Reading some old reviews didn't even have a fridge or microwave. The housekeeping barged in because there were no 'Do not Disturb' signs available apparently and when we called front desk there was no answer. When we went down we had to wait 5-10 minutes each time and the staff was very rude. Finally, after check out, we placed a review and called the corporate line after finding out that a lot of people have not gotten their deposits back. They call the hotel and low and behold we are told we are not getting our deposit back because we smelled like smoke. So if you smoke outside then walk inside, you will lose your deposit and they will say you smoked in their room. Never again will I stay at this hotel.

Liked: Cheap Lyft to venue.
Disliked: Everything. Straight up.

Disliked: No grass area for a dog to use the bathroom.

Liked: People were friendly and helpful. No complaints.

For $80 I was mindblown. Everything looked brand new - amazing flat screen, really cool lights above bed, and everything had a nice light blue color that made the room look very hip. Amazing staff as well - even the room cleaners started conversations and wished us a nice day.

Liked: Ben at the front desk was awesome - remembered my name later that day as well. Extremely generous staff; cool, hip rooms; full balcony; very clean; right in the middle of everything.
Disliked: None.

Liked: I have reviewed this location many, many times. We have stayed in this hotel more than any other, anywhere. The staff was incredibly friendly. They were very helpful with early check-in. The person at the desk upon checkout was very pleasant as well. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. They are among the few hotels downtown with their own parking lot and garage. This certainly adds value, although there is a small fee. They seemed to have done maintenance on the elevator since my previous stay because we had no issues this time.
Disliked: I've mentioned this before but the actual street the hotel is located on is extremely busy and can be difficult to get in and out of at times. Not the hotel's fault. Just setting expectations. I'd still love to see a breakfast option, even continental. This is a very consistent hotel that I'll be staying at again very soon.

Overall I'd stay here again...

Liked: For the price and location, nothing else came close to the great value. They have their own parking garage with a reasonable price compared to other hotels in the area, only $15. The woman at the check-in counter was friendly and had my checked in fast. It's definitely an older building, but the rooms have been nicely updated.
Disliked: The walls and windows are not very sound proof, I could hear everything in the hall and stairwell when other guests entered the building. The multiple 10am calls, which I can only assume were to check to make sure I was in the process of checking out, were not very welcomed.

Disliked: Area was a little scary, elevator is pretty old, parking is expensive, room wasn't super clean, sirens going by every few minutes, my request for a ground floor room or close to elevator for disabled guest was not honored and we were placed on the top floor towards the end of the hallway.

Disliked: They hadn’t swept the room at all. And the bed had so much hair. The parking is ridiculous when it should be included in the cost of the room. I’m not parking for no reason. I’m parking because I booked a room

Amazing value for money in...

Liked: Room was very clean and comfortable! The price was amazing for the location.
Disliked: The area immediately around the Motel feels a bit rough and is at the very edge of the downtown core. Might not always be appropriate ie. for a single female travelling alone. Having said that, I encountered no issues during my stay.
