Enjoyable accommodations in Shelby

Liked: The location was great for walking downtown.The hostesses were great and so accommodating. Breakfast on Saturdaywas exceptional. Loved the grits and apple pastries particularly. If back in the area, we will definitely stay again.
Disliked: It was not a particular problem for us but the street noise would be our only complaint.That said, that is the case in all other overnight accommodations

Liked: The staff was exceptional. Joanie took care of us for breakfast and was accommodating and professional. The chef cooked an amazing (and filling) breakfast. We appreciated Amelia showing us all the amenities - especially the Butler's Pantry which was kept stocked with teas, snacks and water. The location was perfectly situated near the small historic downtown with tons of shops and eating places. The Shelby Cafe treated us like locals and had great cafe food.Overall, it was a welcoming B&B and we'll return when we're back in that area.

Liked: Comfortable, quiet, accommodating staff and great breakfast.
Disliked: The sink in my room was so historically appropriate as to be inconvenient (two taps, small, rubber stopper.)

Good location, neat older home.

Liked: Comfortable bed, soft sheets, big room, excellent breakfast and sweet workers. Excellent location near Uptown. Good parking area.
Disliked: The temperature of the room was very hot, probably close to 80 degrees. My pregnant friend was pretty uncomfortable, and we had to use the window unit to cool it off. Also, privacy shades and/or room darkening curtains is highly recommended since some windows had sheer curtains and others had nothing. I did not like feeling like someone could easily see in.
