The room was nice; the bed was comfortable and the historic building was beautiful. Sketchy neighborhood.

We love staying at the Mondale when going to concerts at the Bing Crosby Theatre. There is an amazing restaurant, 'the Guilded Unicorn' in the hotel and it is less than a 5-minute walk to the venue.

Liked: Love this hotel! The ambience, the historical feel, the rooms, the service people - it is all top notch.

Not a bad hotel, especially if you're seeing a show at the Knitting Factory across the street. Would recommend.

Liked: The room was cleaned and well maintained.
Disliked: The floors above us were super loud and creaky. Didn't get much sleep.

Pleasant

Liked: We have stayed at Montvale several times. We love the location. The Guilded Unicorn Restaurant is in the basement and is very good.
Disliked: The bathroom tile in the first room we were assigned was dirty. It had black marks that we were able to wipe off with a wet rag. I don't think the evening desk staff have enough Customer Service training. Dealing with the issue proved difficult for them. They did resolve things however.

Did not meet expectations given...

Liked: Rooms were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Decor was drab and tired. Hot coffee and hot water at drinks station were never hot.

Disliked: ac couldnt quite keep up so it was a little too warm overnight but loved everything else

Liked: Excellent design, open areas, modern rooms, connections to restaurants and locked off from unwanted visitors roaming the halls.
Disliked: The general noise of a downtown city.

Liked: The charm of the hotel was amazing. The location was perfect, close to everything downtown but just a bit away so not really crazy. Having inexpensive gated parking was a definite a perk.
Disliked: The carpet could stand to be replaced or at least cleaned.
