Newly Renovated and A 5...

Liked: Wow! This is a newly renovated hotel and I was very impressed. The lobby is very nice and provides a comforting vibe with lots of chairs to lounge in. There is a winding staircase that leads downstairs to the conference area. The elevators are updated and there are NO buttons on the inside. That was a cool upgrade to see. The rooms were very comfy. They supply a pillow mist which about knocked me out when I laid down on the bed. It was very relaxing. They also sell this pillow mist! The bedding and pillows were nice and soft - just how I like them. I had a city view which was very nice. Be mindful that people can actually see what you are doing through the windows, so just be mindful to keep the curtains closed at times of privacy. I ate breakfast at the hotel and I thought it was well worth the money. I had the french toast which I would give a 4/5. It was quite good and although I explored other areas for food outside of the hotel, I was glad to know that going down to the restaurant was a great option to also go to if i wanted to stay in. The staff were very kind (with one exception) and were ready to help with anything. Upon request, they provided a great set of recommendations to eat, which I tried and enjoyed. The list has areas that are close by and areas where you would need to take a car to get to. The location is great! I went for a concert and it was a 5 minute walk to the Bell Center. I felt very safe around the location and for those who use the Metro, there is a metro station not even 3 minutes away. I parked my car there throughout my stay. I found the parking spots were quite narrow but otherwise it felt great not having to constantly move my car or find parking. The gym is very big and has a lot of machinery. There is an area for cardio, strength training and stretching. They have many treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters (x3), and weight machines. I would highly recommend. It's definitely a place I would go back to.
Disliked: One of the staff members were rude when I had called from my room about the recommendations for food. I checked in after 7pm and when I called she very rudely said that the concierge had left and she doesn't know that information, instead of just telling me to go to the front desk and they would have that information. When I went to the front desk to then ask, they happily provided me with a print out of all the recommendations that the concierge have picked out. I would double check your receipt. When they had sent me my receipt I had an additional restaurant charge which was not mine. When I called from my room the front desk said they would fix it and then I never heard from them. When I went to check out I mentioned it again, and it seemed like it was new information. The two who helped me check out were quick to correct the error and were very kind.
