the location is close to...
Liked: close to metro and close to a bakery
Disliked: well when we got there the room wasn't ready we already knew that was going to happen which is fine. but we were so jetlag that i fell asleep on the couch in the lobby and when we finally were able to check in the receptionist informed me that the coffee was free in the lobby in would have been nice f she told me that while we waited on a different day we asked the receptionist if he could communicate to the taxi driver to take us as close to the Louvre as he could without sitting in traffic instead he told the taxi driver something different and the driver took us to the opera house. we asked that our room not be cleaned as it was small and we didn't want staff going through our things (as i had a bad experience once before in France) to come one day to our bed being mad. and i didn't like that when we did check out the receptionist didn't ask us how or if we enjoyed our stay ...

Friendly, comfortable, authentically Parisian
Liked: As two 70+ travellers, we requested the lowest floor available when we made our reservations. The hotel went above and beyond our expectations by booking us into a ground floor room that saved us many steps over our four day stay. We realized when we checked in and started to explore the area that we were only one block from the Montparnasse Cemetery, where many literary eminences are buried, and only a ten-minute walk from the Catacombs. The rue Daguerre has a host of excellent restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and open-air market stands. It is almost like a fairy tale vision of what a Parisian streetscape should look like. We enjoyed the hotel's breakfast on our first day but it was not served over the weekend and the manager advised us to grab a pastry and a cup of coffee on the street - which was easily done. Our room was small by American standards but very comfortable. The bathroom was large and deluxe. The front desk was staffed overnight and we found both the day shift and night shift managers to be friendly and helpful.
Disliked: There was no shuttle to the airport. We were informed that shuttle service had been lost during Covid and never came back. Though we could have taken the Metro to CDG, we realized that would be very cumbersome carrying our suitcases, especially given how extremely crowded with riders the Metro trains were most of the time. Through Booking.com, we were able to reserve a taxi at a very competitive rate and that was money well spent for convenience and stress relief.
