Disappointing hotel

Liked: Room was nice and had great view after we paid to upgrade from first floor to third. Bar on 4th floor was nice with a view and fireplace. Liked shades for window.o
Disliked: Construction on hotel everywhere. Had to take elevator to fourth floor then carry luggage down two flights of stairs to get to our room. No coffeemaker in tje room. Unsafe conditions with all the construction. Beach was not raked or cleaned by hotel so garbage was in the sand and dog poop. Hotel charged 40.00 a night to park where construction workers also were parking. Makeshift lobby was less than inviting. Yellow tape everywhere and not even sure if pool was open.

Disliked: seller misrepresented state and cleanliness of hotel.mislead.

The stay & view was...

Liked: I loved the view from our room , the easy access to the beach & restaurant was good even though it seemed not too busy .
Disliked: There was construction & pool and hot tub was not available unfortunately. Also finding the front desk from the room is inconvenient due to this .

Disliked: It was a little difficult trying to get from point A to point B due to construction. I’m looking forward to going back when the work is complete:)

Horrible for the price

Liked: It was under construction, the pool was closed . No elevator to the second floor . No hot water , no tissues in the box , our window was fogged up so we could t see . It looked nothing like the pictures . Went to dinner and the waitress was so rude .

Disliked: We bought the stay based on Booking.com website. It was far from what was portrayed. The property was a complete building site of renovation. We had take our own baggage’s to our room walking up and down staircases with our heavy suitcases.The water was not warm to hotThe restaurant bar shut at 21.00 We had to pay an extra USD 50.00 for an “upgrade”We had to pay USD 40.00 for an exposed parking for 1 night!Very disappointed that spoilt our stay at Monterey.
