Monterey Beach Hotel a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Awesome place to stay right...

Liked: Loved how close it was to the beach
Disliked: Checking in did take a little bit of time, but that was expected

Everything was great except for...

Liked: I loved that the hotel is right on the beach. The rooms were comfortable, the restaurant was beautiful, and food delicious.
Disliked: I didn’t like that I had booked a king room with an ocean view, and was given a garden view room, and still had to pay the ocean view price. Very disappointed.

Liked: Great location, right on the beach. Love all the lounging areas inside and outside. Nice little touches like free smores,complementary glass of wine. Very comfy beds. Burgers in the bar were pricy but good.It was our sons birthday and Nancy the receptionist made it special by leaving a note and a box of chocolates. All staff was very nice and helpful. Wish we had time to use the 2 hours of complementary bike use. The hotel felt cozy and comfy and we would come back.
Disliked: Too bad the sauna's were not working yet.

Great location, lacking in service

Liked: The location was right on the beach and you could see whales from the hotel
Disliked: There was a lot of confusion around payment; money was being taken out of my account daily but I had paid in advance for the stay. It took a number of days and different receptionist to acknowledge the problem and rectify it. The room was not cleaned & the towels not changed at all during our stay, despite our asking. We were really looking forward to our stay and these things took the shine off it. The final receptionist did give us our parking for free as a gesture of goodwill

Noise

Liked: The facility was nice and clean and the food was great .
Disliked: The Facility was nice and the food was great . My only complaint was the noise . I stayed in room 327 right next to the maid services and the noise was loud at all hours . I’m a deep sleeper and still couldn’t sleep due to the noise .

very nice for beach lovers

Liked: Hotel entrance to the beach is amazing
Disliked: The bartender was so rude and didn’t greet me acted like I was bothering her for food. I was still nice and tipped her for my food to go and no thank you or anything my food was just thrown in the bag.
