Huge pet and resort fees!!

Liked: The views, and beach location are awesome as are the on-site food options.
Disliked: Despite advertising themselves as dog-friendly, their pet fee is a shocking $170 fee plus $20 per night. For that price, you'd expect at least a small amenity or gesture — treats, a small toy, anything — but we received nothing. The website lists a lower pet fee (which includes a welcome gift for your pet), and after I raised the issue, they did honor the online rate of $125, but still did not recieve any pet amenities. Still, even that lower fee feels wildly excessive for what’s offered — or rather, not offered.As someone who travels often and works in the industry as a travel influencer, I know that a standard pet fee is usually around 25% of the nightly room rate. For this hotel, that would come out to $50–$75 — not $125 and certainly not $170+. Add that to the already too high room, resort and parking fees, and sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning. The recent renovations are nice, and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated, but at the end of the day, they’re still simply motel-style rooms with very thin walls. The "luxury" price tag just doesn’t match the experience — especially for pet owners.Unfortunately, the magic and charm that once made this hotel special for decades feels lost under all the added fees and disappointments. If you can afford a $170 pet fee, then please know there are WAY nicer places to stay that will likely treat you and your pup like a valued guest, instead of just a money grab or inconvenience.
