Montecassino Hotel & Suites

Would never stay here again; for $225 a night I would expect a half decent place, this is not!

Disliked: Old; outdated rooms; awful service.

Disliked: Fridge didn't work; hard to find things; no conditioner or comb; dated; old; tiny TV.

Liked: Good value for the price. The room (a large and clean studio) was well-equipped with a fridge, microwave, and sink. While the furnishings were a bit dated, everything was functional and well-maintained. The hotel is conveniently located, close to both a bus stop and a metro station. Nevertheless, it still takes about 50 minutes to reach Downtown Toronto. The city tax increased after I booked through Booking.com, but the hotel honored the original rate, which I appreciated.
Disliked: The continental breakfast was very basic. I only found out on the last day that it was possible to request eggs. A small sign or note would have been helpful.

It was clean and comfortable...

Liked: Breakfast needed a protein. I did see people ordering eggs but at least hard boiled eggs or yogurt should be included.
Disliked: The lobby was on the 2nd floor. A little confusing. There were a lot of men standing around the entrance. We were two females travelling together.

Liked: The issue with the hotel is not the staffs fault. They were very kind in assisting, but I would never recommend staying here to anyone.
Disliked: It took moving rooms 4 times to have a "clean" room which still wasn't clean. The first room I attempted we couldn't even get in the room as the key broke in the door. The 2nd room was covered in hair and white bodily fluids. The 3rd room was covered in mold and the shower didn't work. The 4th room needed to have the sheets replaced and was acceptable enough as it was now past 11pm. When the staff brought me the new sheets, two men just walked into the room with barely a knock. The doors do not have adequate locks, which then lead to me needing to barricade the door to ensure no one else barged in.
