Hotel Description
Le Monastère des Augustines, a health and wellness center, is a former monastery from the 17th century that has been completely restored. Two room types are available; the “Authentic” rooms, restored in a monastic spirit, are former Augustinian cells with shared bathrooms. The “Contemporary” rooms are modernly furnished while respecting the heritage character of the place. These rooms have a private bathroom. To promote relaxation and tranquility, there are no televisions or telephones in the rooms. Guests will find one on the upper floor in the living area, where computers are also available. Free WiFi is available. Guests can also take a self-guided tour of the museum or join a guided tour for an additional fee. Le Vivoir offers healthy, local, and organic food such as vegetarian, fish, poultry, and meat dishes. Breakfast is taken in silence, a morning ritual in harmony with the site's historic vocation. A boutique and a take-out counter are also available. Guests will enjoy the wide range of overall health care and the daily program of activities.

Peaceful stay in an historic...

Liked: Night staff (a very friendly young, dark-haired man) was superb, supplying info and actually guiding me to my room through the dark corridors. Morning staff was also nice. Silent breakfast was a positive, unique experience. Hearing nuns chanting in the chapel was a bonus. Soaking tub in the room was heaven.
Disliked: Nothing

Excellent place to stay!

Liked: Beautiful and quiet hotel. One of the most relaxing experiences you can have due to its meditation and relaxation policies.

Amazing stay!

Liked: Super clean hotel with lots of character. Very friendly front desk staff. Small but cosy room with perhaps the best mattress of my life - I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! I stayed in a room with a bathroom, which was a good size. Silent breakfast was an interesting experience and the food is divine. Very well located also - just a walking distance to some of the city's main sites.
Disliked: The windows in the room are old and have some gaps, so if you're a light sleeper like me, you might end up waking up with the sunlight. We also had dinner at the hotel one night - unlike the breakfast, which is marvellous, I found the dinner (only available in a buffet style) a bit overpriced.

Amazing.

Liked: The bedding is amazingly comfortable. The washrooms are elegantly decorated and very clean. It is an honour to be able to sleep in such a beautiful historical building. The breakfast was fresh and delicious.

A quiet, peaceful abode steep...

Liked: The monastery is set in a walled compound just a little downhill from the old city centre so it was was quiet and peaceful despite the bustle of the main streets. The shared bathroom situation is not a big inconvenience because there are several shower rooms on my floor. They were very clean and I didn't have to queue at all. Other than the accommodation aspect, the monastery also has a museum and it was worthwhile exploring its history and gardens too. It's perfect for solo travellers. I slept well and felt very rested even after just a night. Would love to be able to visit again.
Disliked: I stayed in the single chambre authentique so it was the smallest room available. It was still a little pricey for a single with shared facilities.
