Monarch Hotel

Rooms are clean and staff are friendly; not the best environment outside, but good center location to different restaurants.

Liked: Beds are comfortable; clean rooms.
Disliked: No A/C - only a fan on ceiling. No parking available; parking garage 2 blocks away for $40 - this is normal for SF though.

Nothing like the pictures online. No grand piano, no food tables. The room did it's job, but the shower leaked all night, the heater was faulty, and the blanket dirty.

Liked: Quiet at night.
Disliked: Smell.

We wanted an affordable room we could get ready and crash in. It suited our needs. Was clean, safe and enough space for the two of us. We would definitely stay here again!

Liked: Windows that opened; spacious room.
Disliked: Room smelled of chemicals when we first got there (assuming from cleaning products and window not being opened).

Liked: A very difficult time, due to Covid 19. We were looked after and accommodated well. We had to stay inside the hotel more than we would normally have done. But we were comfortable and the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: A little help with our luggage would have been appreciated.

Disliked: Still two days later the 100.00 deposit on my account. Did not shower because dirty. Old and in need of upgrade.
