It a relaxing weekend, with...

Liked: The main house is nice with lovely grounds and the restaurant was lovely and cool in the recent hot weather,
Disliked: The rooms are very small, including the changing rooms for the swimming pool. The lift wasn’t working to our room and it felt like it hadn’t for quite a while, there was no sense of urgency, the food was average pub quality.

Disliked: The picture if hotel was lovely but when allocated room it was in the back of the grounds in an annex like boxes on top of each other and paint filthy dirty. Room given up one flight if stairs with the lift not working. When found room it was disgusting, mould around windows, wallpaper filthy & red wine spilt by the headboard on bed. Asked to change room assistant helpful & showed us another room & when opened door I the middle if room was dog basket & bowls, assistant was very embarrassed, she then gave us another room up another flight of stairs & window wouldn't open so we're given fans o one of the hottest nights this year. Because we are both pensioners & travelled a long time to this hotel & exhausted we just slept on the bed.I would like to complain and have a refund & would not recommend, the walk to the rooms was dreadful no lifts working,

Very happy with our last...

Liked: Lovely old building extended to add useful additions (pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, conference rooms and extra accommodation).
Disliked: A few tired areas, some bits missed in room changeover and pool changing a bit small.

Pleasant

Liked: The main hotel was lovely and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly as well as a couple of the staff at breakfast. The breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable. My friends and I enjoyed sitting in the Italian garden with some drinks before going out for dinner.
Disliked: On arrival one of the twin rooms was not cleaned and it was obvious the last guest had just left. There were towels in the bathroom and in the room, toilet roll in the toilet basin and the beds were unmade. Rubbish was on the floor and the room smelt musty.My friends called reception who advised them that somebody would come and allocate a new room and they waited 30 minutes for this to happen. They ended up having to change to 2 separate rooms.The breakfast was good but it would have been good to have a choice of eggs and my friend who is vegetarian asked for vegetarian sausages and they were brought out uncooked. They looked like they had been defrosted in the microwave and 'cooked' in the microwave for a few minutes. One of the members of staff at breakfast was rude and pushed past an older couple with a trolley and didn't apologize when the trolley then nudged one of my friends.
