The Spotlight on Miller & Carter Maidstone by Innkeeper's Collection

Colonial-Style Comfort Near the Maidstone Music Scene

Modern convenience meets historic charm at Miller & Carter Maidstone by Innkeeper's Collection. Housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century army barracks, this lodge offers a cozy, character-rich stay just a 15-minute walk from Maidstone city center. With free private parking and a celebrated on-site steakhouse, it's the perfect base for concert-goers seeking a relaxing retreat after the show.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short stroll or quick cab ride from Maidstone’s top venues, yet far enough to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. The free parking makes driving in a breeze, and the generous 12:00 PM checkout gives you time to recover from a late-night encore. With a stylish but laid-back vibe, it’s a great fit whether you’re catching a bucket-list artist or hopping venue to venue.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends wanting a relaxed dinner and drinks before the show
  • Solo travelers looking for a safe, welcoming place with personality
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of it
  • Fans wanting quiet comfort to recharge after the music
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who appreciate good value and free parking

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Miller & Carter Steakhouse is a major draw, especially if you're a fan of premium, 30-day aged English and Irish steaks. While there’s no late-night room service, you’re within walking distance of Maidstone's eateries and pubs. Breakfast service isn’t officially highlighted, so plan accordingly if you’re sleeping in post-gig.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t offer live music or a dedicated bar beyond the steakhouse, Maidstone’s bustling nightlife is just 15 minutes away. Expect a mix of lively pubs, cocktail lounges, and music-friendly bars—many within easy reach by foot or taxi.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the charming historic setting, spotless rooms, and the delicious steaks at the on-site restaurant. Reviewers also love the quiet atmosphere and easy access to the town center. The free parking gets a big thumbs-up from those driving in for events.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note the lack of air conditioning in warmer months, and the absence of a lift may be tricky if you're carrying gear. Also, while the steakhouse is a hit, food service doesn’t run late, so plan your post-concert cravings accordingly.

The Bottom Line

A charming, quiet stay with great food and free parking—Miller & Carter Maidstone by Innkeeper's Collection is a solid pick for concert-goers looking to unwind in style after the show.

Location was perfect for train station and the bed was the comfiest hotel bed I have ever experienced! Stay at Innkeeper's Lodge Maidstone - friendly staff and clean.

Disliked: Guy in the room below snored like an express train!

One night stay.

Liked: The location was good. Perfect for a short journey to the channel tunnel crossing.
Disliked: Breakfast was terrible. For a restaurant, it was most disappointing. Needless to say, we will find somewhere else to stay before our next channel crossing.

Very good but…….

Liked: The large room, comfy bed. Excellent shower.
Disliked: The breakfast wasn’t great. Nice sausages though. I like that it is cooked to order but TERRIBLE scrambled eggs……very hard and dry. Toast was barely toasted. Hot drinks were fine juices were long life and not the best quality. No breakfast pastries at all. At very little extra cost the offering could be improved considerably. Particularly…….teach the kitchen staff how to make scrambled egg.

Fantastic example

Liked: I was not allowed to stay at the property as when I called I was told you have to book in by 9/30.Linda/Belinda the manager then lied and said 1. The manager had to go to bed at 11.2. That I was insane and rude to ask her to wait 15 minutes as she had to get up for a course in the morning to attend. She refused to allow me to stay and we had no where else to go as were at a wedding. I explained how we booked, that the details were not clear or right about the times. She said they are ‘you did not read it..In 2025 anyone commenting upon anyone’s sanity with mental health a disability and protected characteristic is quite frankly shocking. Now I don’t know if Belinda was having a bad day. I do know I would not recommend. Ps she said I would be charged in full.
Disliked: Didn’t get to see it.
