Very fine location and property. Restaurant needs a manager to organize and train staff.

Liked: It was absolutely incredible and had so many things to do during our downtime from exploring the island.
Disliked: The staff and the amenities were incredible!

Could be a 10/10 if...

Liked: The lobby was very welcoming and beautiful. The room was cosy and clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom seemed to have been partially renovated. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room and common areas were. Although we could hear the people above us walk around in their room, it was very quiet at night and we slept well! We loved the views of the golf course, and the golf was great!
Disliked: What lets this property down is the restaurant. We had two different cocktails and both were overly sweet, tasted like a cheap soda. I paid $32 for haddock with caper sauce (although I afterwards saw on their app it should be $24… hhhmmmm). Not sure where the sauce was… I found one caper on the plate and barely a drop of sauce. It should really have been served with sauce in a separate pot. The vegetables it came with were steamed and clearly reheated. They were rubbery and bland, the potatoes had also been baked and then reheated and were dried out and chewy. On top of that no thought went into the presentation, it looked like something that comes out of my kitchen on an average weekday. For this reason we would not go back. Food and beverage are a huge part of a successful resort experience, and although this resort is beautiful, with stunning views, the overpriced, low quality food really spoiled our experience. If they get a good chef in they would really be onto a winning concept. What a shame…

Disliked: Fridge did not work but staff replaced it almost instantly

Liked: Activity options. Golf, tennis, biking, pickle ball, etc. Golf instructor Tyson was amazing and the 3 hole executive course was perfect for my daughter who is novice. Staff were good and assessed an issue with our room.
Disliked: Pleasant but not luxury rooms. Tennis balls and equipment not very good and only one tennis ball to use to play.

Great stay, friendly staff and...

Liked: Mill river resort was a great stay in the west end of PEI. Staff was friendly and helpful. The lovely 2km walking path was a great way to walk around with our dog. There's also a public microwave.
Disliked: During our stay several kids were running and yelling in the hallway. Food was leftover outside a guest room from dinner until we checked out in the morning.

Good place to stay if...

Liked: Hotel is clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We were on a cycling trip of the Confederation Trail and they have a secure room to store bikes in, which was a bonus. We were able to get dinner at the hotel and it was very quiet at night.

Disliked: Had no issues
