Milford Hall is a good,...

Liked: Parts are undergoing refurbishment at present, which is why I didn't give "Excellent", else what could I give if I returned when it was finished. The staff were without exception lovely. The room was spacious & comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of space, excellent shower. Really good full English breakfast, plenty of choice, provided mustard for my sausages when asked. The only item lacking was black pudding, but I'll not complain about that, considering how far south Salisbury is! It's not the cheapest, but what I would expect to pay for a hotel in a tourist centre like Salisbury.
Disliked: Nowt to do with the Hotel really - the room was so hot, even with the fan on full, but it was a heat wave & temps high twenties through the night. But I got a good sleep in the end. Then while I arrived from the station by taxi, I didn't think much of the local bus service. There's a bus stop near the hotel entrance, but both when I went down to the Cathedral & market place on Friday and when on Saturday I went to the service & meeting that was the reason for my stay, I walked, and no bus passed me at all (apart from ones that went to that popular destination "Not in Service"). OK, it's only around ¾ mile, but it was very hot & a bus would have been a relief. The only thing the Hotel could have controlled is the beer price, £7 for a pint of IPA. But I treated myself in the heat!

Good value

Liked: Accommodation was very good, breakfast was good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The location at the back end of town wasn't so good. There were only 7 fire doors between our room and reception. I would have liked more.....
