Milagro Hotel

A very pleasant stay in...

Liked: The building reminded us a lot of the old palacios in Rome! Remarkable stone and brickwork throughout, yet with touches of modern updates such as bedside power points. We always worry in these old buildings that we will be stuck in a room with no window, or in a stuffy dank corner, but that was not the case. We were even given a choice of rooms, landing on one with a balcony overlooking the street. It helps that the hotel is on a corner lot, so most rooms appear to have window/balcony views. Very charming interior courtyard restaurant with retractable roof overhead. Zocalo and central Puebla attractions nearby - we never had to take a taxi except at check in and check out.
Disliked: The water supply was a bit tricky. One time we feared the worst when the water stopped flowing in the bathroom, but a chat with reception was all it took to have it running again. Maintenance may be an issue: the towel above the sink was hanging off a limp screw protruding from the wall where a hook had been.We were advised that the front doors of the hotel are closed at 8 pm. After that time we could gain access by knocking.

Liked: Hotel in historic building- looked nice, friendly staff
Disliked: Uncomfortable bed, dark room, noisy since the early morning

Good hotel, great staff

Liked: Fabulous, obliging, friendly staff.
Disliked: Rooms on the front street are VERY noisy with traffic. The hotel needs to refocus its priorities - seven cushions on the bed looks very nice, but I'd rather have three cushions and a bedside light. It's not a lot of fun getting out of bed to turn off the lights, nor is it pleasant stumbling about in the dark in the middle of the night on a toilet visit!

Puebla is a wonderful city...

Liked: The room was large with a king bed quiet The location was great lots of restaurants and activities nearby Puebla was a friendly city Everyone at hotel helpful

Very good

Liked: We had a good breakfast, the staff were friendly and the location great.
Disliked: There was a sewer smell coming from the bathroom which sometimes made it hard to be in the room - unfortunately!

Exceptional

Liked: The location couldn’t be better and the staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. We were allowed to choose between two different available rooms and the bed was massive and really comfortable. I loved all the free amenities in the room (body lotion, conditioner, sewing kit, etc)
Disliked: No parking on premises. The parking is quite a walking distance away and you need to pay on top
