Middletons is a collection of six historical Grade-II listed building located around a secluded courtyard garden in the heart of York city center 2625 feet from York Rail Station and York Minster. It offers complimentary access to a fitness center with a gym. The hotel is 7 minutes' drive from York Racecourse. Individually decorated the rooms with attached bathroom have free high-speed WiFi a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities as basic facilities. A fresh breakfast is available every morning and the modern Sawmill restaurant offers a varied menu throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy a drink on one of two sunny terraces or in the hotel gardens. The hotel is just 5 minutes' walk to the main shopping areas and main attractions. Great location, lovely place to...

Liked: Lovely outdoor area and bar/ reception area. Very easy to park, and location is perfect for city centre and river. Feels like a really well kept property. I would 100% stay again.
Disliked: Although the breakfast was lovely, with great choice and quality, the service could have been a bit smoother.

Far exceeded my expectations for...

Liked: Beautifully peaceful courtyard garden to enjoy dining al fresco on a summer's evening. Large bedroom with a very comfortable super king size bed. Great breakfast. Ample city centre parking on site.

Disappointed with the stay.

Disliked: We were put in the last available room which was otherwise known as a "disabled" now called "accessible" room which smelled of drains and was cleaned then moved to a decent room but we did not book a disabled room and booking.com should have told us at the beginning of the email and not the end which was too late!! It should have been checked and approved as we wanted and ordered a two bedded room.

Good location for exploring York

Liked: Location good
Disliked: Cost of car parking onsite seemed very high, apparently free if booking direct with hotel. There seems to be a variety of accommodation buildings and it felt like we were sent over to staff quarters (certainly one of the oldest, most tired parts of the complex) for our room, albeit there were quirky little doors that had probably originally been Nun’s rooms in this part.

Exceptional hotel - 10/10! Everything...

Liked: Exceptional stay. Extremely quiet location, out of the bustle. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Comfy bed, good food, and the best night's sleep in a hotel I've ever had! Excellent hotel!
Disliked: Leaving at the end of my stay!
