Hotel comfortable and good location

Nice historical hotel in quiet...

Liked: Very clean and quiet, comfortable bed, smart tv in the room. The food was good and reasonably priced.
Disliked: The hair dryer didn’t work.

Friendly, comfortable unique hotel

Liked: Close to city centre only a few minutes walk.We were upgraded on arrival to a beautiful room.Lovely breakfast and friendly staff

Liked: Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and well stocked.
Disliked: Beds were a bit too firm for us. Some people might prefer them like this though.

Liked: I loved the actual hotel, the hotel lobby, the tea and cookies in the room, the feel of the room, the size of the room, the grounds
Disliked: There was some staining on the bed linin (nothing big) and the twin beds were the extra narrow kind, so pretty small. The shower in room 50 was hard to figure out and it was scalding hot no matter what I did. Taking our luggage down the stairs was a bit harrowing as well.

York was lovely. Hotel disappointing...

Liked: Interesting building/s. Well presented inside and out. Comfortable room. Clean. Good, convenient location for walking around York and many of its attractions.
Disliked: A number of "niggling" things which individually were not worth reporting, but overall added up to less than a four star hotel standard. Staff "multitasking" and as a consequence, failing to give best service. Managements' fault. Room relatively small. No restaurant facilities available on Friday And Saturdays. In general, the experience was not four star. Could do a lot better.

Disliked: Place needs total refurbishment, I felt uncomfortable in the room, tv bracket not working , shower water going everywhere, feet felt unclean walking without shoes…
