A fantastic short break, we...
Liked: Everything! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel was immaculate and the food for breakfast and the evening meal was fantastic. Very close to the city centre so we could walk in. We couldn't fault anything.
Disliked: Nothing

Exceptional
Liked: From the minute we arrived until the minute we left, we were treated exceptionally well. The staff were super friendly and always on hand to help with a smile. The food was phenomenal. Some of the best I have tasted. The room was very spacious and clean, and the bed was super comfy.cant find a single thing to complain about except to say our stay was far too short and will definitely be returning.

A really nice place
Liked: There was nothing to dislike.
Disliked: My only complaint was my room was up too many sets of stairs. Future guests please note. The house cannot really accommodate a standard lift.

A very memorable and relaxing...
Liked: The whole stay was ideal for my requirements. The location, just outside York was perfect for me. Close to the city centre but a great feeling of being in the beautiful countryside. The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities you expect from a top class hotel. The weather was very cold when I stayed, but the room was very cozy and comfortable. The service and staff are very good and professional.
Disliked: I could not really point to anything. I would have liked to stay longer.

OK
Liked: The food was excellent, and service entertaining. The gardens were beautiful
Disliked: Middlethorpe is expensive. We knew that before we got there. Everything was as we expected, apart from the accommodation. The room was somewhat ordinary and in need of an update. The en suite was tiny, cramped and the room gave off a smell of boiled cabbage, we suspected this was a drain issue. We reported this and it improved slightly. It was my wife,s 70th birthday, and whilst the accommodation did not spoil it, it did detract from it. Given the cost of the weekend, we expected better.
