Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham North Canton

The hotel was conveniently located off I 77 and there were many food and shopping opportunities nearby. I would stay here again.

Liked: The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the extra pillows.
Disliked: The pool was out of order. We were all looking forward to extra swim time.

Liked: What this hotel offers is value.
Disliked: It was clean, but it's important to know that the vast majority of the rooms were taken by workers with large trucks spending a night or two at the hotel. They were also a number of people who were extremely loud at night.

Liked: The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was clean. Whenever I had a concerned they were attentive and addressed the hot water concern.

Disliked: Proximity to highway could make it a bit noisy; very loud guests around and above us made sleep more difficult than desired

Liked: We booked this hotel with the hopes of resting after 9 hours drive. The room we were placed in at 11:30pm was next to loud talking neighbors. The walls were so thin, their normal voice volume felt like they were in the room with us. Before we unpacked, we called reception desk to attempt resolve the issue with possibly moving us to a different room, since we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep and this condition posed a threat to this plan. Instead, their solution was to tell the people to be quiet. When we said that we didn’t think this was a viable solution because, the whole reason we booked a hotel was to get rest. We had another 9 hours drive in the morning. We were told to wait 10 minutes to see if the situation changed. The problem is we didn’t have 10 minutes since all we wanted to do was get in our jammies and finally relax after a very long day. Once again, we explained that we still didnt think that this would work, since we were all tired and just wanted to take a shower and lay down. They said that we have to wait to see if they had an another room but had said initially that they were booked and didn’t have anymore room. At this point, we decided that it was best to leave because we wanted to rest. At this request came the resistance. We spent the next hour almost begging to have the transaction cancelled to leave to find another place. After standing firm about our decision to either get a resolution by getting a different room or cancellation altogether, we were told that transaction would be cancelled in two hours when manager came in. Once again we had to we stood firm and expressed this was unacceptable and that transaction needed to be cancelled before we left and needed confirmation of the same. Well, were told that they receipts were not available but could get a hand written note. What?! Where were we? Is this a way to conduct legitimate business. We had a terrible experience at this hotel to say the least.

Not worth the money we...

Liked: It was okay for a one-night stay. We were able to walk to cracker barrel which was convenient after being in the car 5 hours driving. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was no remote for our TV in the room and the young woman was very apologetic and gave us one with new batteries in it.
Disliked: On booking.com it was listed as having coffee maker in the room. There was no coffee maker in the room. We felt what we paid was a little pricey considering the breakfast was lacking in a variety of hot items. We've been to other comparable accommodations that offered either hard-boiled and or scrambled eggs and some kind of meat. This particular lodging offered only waffles and the rest was cold items such as cereal, muffins, bagels and instant oatmeal. We've paid less and have gotten more for breakfast.
