Liked: Staff here were very helpful, even though we could not speak Canadian French [only Swedish and German and English, for us.] and they were the most helpful of all of the businesses we visited, except for Café Bistro la Brûlerie. Loved the location in the rebuilding area after the 2013 disaster. Loved that it was close to the lovely waterfront park where we set up to watch the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse. Very clean throughout. Comfortable mattresses. Smaller room but well organized to be completely useable. Easily walkable to all of the statuary around the perimeter of the previously burned-out section of town and to all of the commercial and residential buildings being added back to this area. We enjoyed our view over the park and onto the lake and Mont Megantic beyond the far shore. Choose rooms on second or third floor with room numbers #02 thru #016. We had a great time in the town and will come back again.
Disliked: Did not appreciate that the official webpage and review website pages indicating a restaurant on premises. There is not; never has been, by its apparent design. The breakfast included does NOT happen any more. It's a continental breakfast bagged with a juice box, a fruit, and a muffin. No choices except the muffin. BUT, the real problem is that these are pre-made and stocked in their two refrigerators which have items for sale and it's up to you to grab them. So, these are gone by 0800, and you may go without if someone took more than there share.... So, this system needs to change. We didn't get our 'breakfast bag' the first morning because they were all gone. I'd also suggest that they redo the main entry flooring because it is delaminating from its adhesive and sounds like a temporary dance floor and is broken in more than a few places. This is minor. My wife and I wish they'd designed these rooms with more lighting on the ceiling (never happens anymore) or on the walls; what there was was insufficient.

Nice hotel, will come again!

Liked: The hotel is on he main street of Lac Megantic but is quiet, there isn't a lot of traffic.
Disliked: Would have been nice to have scrambled eggs and bacon or sausages available for breakfast. Hot pancakes were available.
