Horrible experience stay at Microtel...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: It's been over thirty years since I last went to Houston, TX so I was pretty excited to be going with my son, his wife and my three grandchildren.  As soon as we arrived we noticed only two cars parked in the parking lot. As we entered the hotel the lobby was hot because the AC was broken. We wanted to turn around and leave but we knew it was too late to cancel so we had no choice but to stay there.  We checked in and after we paid, the front person at the counter then told us that the elevators were not working either. We immediately left to go to Meow Wolf Houston because we had tickets and we didn't want to arrive late.  That evening when we arrived back at the hotel  we noticed the room had mold and was very smelly. The next morning we got up for breakfast.  Again the lobby was hot with no AC at all.  The food was horrible. The only choices were cold cereal or waffles.. The milk and the orange juice were in large pitchers and waterdown that had no taste to it.   I informed the front person we could not stay another day but he refused to cooperate with the Booking.com representative that was on the phone with me stating to the Booking .com rep they have no access to email and that they only do business through the phone.  We still decided to leave because we could not stay due to the horrible conditions of this hotel.   However, the next day to my surprise I did receive a paid receipt for that Friday stay from the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham through email.

Liked: Not much
Disliked: All the plumbing fixtures need attention. Loose or not working well, the toilet had to be be flashed by pulling off the top and releasing the water The elevator stopped working. There was no staff at the front desk

Disliked: Premises need some improvement! Toilet was not firm, beds smell funny and a roach came out of the microwave after being used!

Terrible, worst experience ever.

Disliked: First room toilet was non functional, they switched me to a room where I had to plunge the toilet after every use(and forced me to do it), the room smelled like cigarettes, I requested more towels and they made me deliver the old towels to get new ones(only gave me 2 towels for a 3 night stay to start), the tv was broken and I told them and they just brushed me off, the staff was rude, and they have their entire family living in the hotel and they make noise all night. I got an approval for a late check out then they were banging on my door and told me I had to leave even though I had an email confirmation for the late check out(only 1 hour after normal check out anyway). Stay at Sonesta they have good customer service, cleaner rooms, and are the same price basically.
