Our 'Go-To' place to stay...

Liked: We arrived early expecting to put our bags into a secure lock-up for a few hours before checking in, however the friendly & helpful staff said not only could we check in straight away but if we waited 10 minutes they would switch us to a ground floor room instead of on the 2nd floor (we already knew there is no lift at this hotel - this being our third stay here in 20 years!). The room was quiet (no traffic noise heard), apart from the usual fridge noise (we always turn the fridge off overnight wherever we stay to overcome that). The wet-floor shower had a good head of pressure behind the decent flow of hot water. The beds were comfortable and room temperature was perfect. We didn't need the TV so the fact we could only get sound but no picture wasn't a problem - staff told us they were quite prepared to check it out straight away if we wanted...We used the kitchen up on the 2nd floor twice during our stay and found it basic but functional, meeting our needs adequately.We took a bus / train combo from the airport to North Melbourne Station & the hotel is only a 650m walk away
Disliked: A few more forks in the kitchen is about the only improvement I can think of. The only other thing I didn't like was that the hotel was booked out for our return to Melbourne before flying home, meaning we had to find somewhere else to stay!!!

Liked: The location is good.
Disliked: The bathroom was very small. We booked for a room for 3. No idea why we were offered a room with one double bed and three single beds, which left no space for a table or any chair in the room.
