Disliked: Rooms are like a timewarp to the 1980s and looking very tiredYou need a geography degree to find your way around the hotel. Its like crystal maze!

Disliked: Room decor was tired and datedStaff very abrupt and not very friendly The menu offers “Welsh cheeses” as a dessert option. What arrived was Cheddar, Brie and Stilton. Definitely not Welsh!The coffee at breakfast was very poor quality from a water boiler. A hotel which advertises itself as 4 star should offer more than this. In one of our rooms there was little or no hot water. In the other room the temperature of the shower couldn’t be adjusted. The same room also had 7 steps down to the en-suite which we weren’t warned about to check that was acceptable.

Love this place

Liked: I’m a regular guest here and it’s always great. There’s a great walk around a lake and a lakeside cafe just behind the hotel with a great playground for kids.

Liked: Friendly staff, comfortable beds, well appointed bathroom.
Disliked: Public areas very very tired especially carpets which look dirty (probably a pale geay/green colour in reality) , sofa arms worn and heavily soiled.Not very dog friendly, dining with your pet is restricted to the lounge which hasn't suitable tables for dining at.

Liked: Loved it! Really enjoyed the ambience of the hotel. Appreciated the space in our (Luxury) room. Great food. Good and friendly service. Excellent machines in the gym. Really good spa. Yes, the furniture is a bit dated, as my wife mentioned more than once but the character, amenities, staff and food quality at the hotel more than made up for that in my view.

its ok but not exactly...

Liked: This is a typical old fashioned hotel which is very dated and probably was last decorated or had new carpet in 1974, the pool and sauna were nice but overall the whole place just felt incredibly dated
Disliked: Super old fashioned very dated probably not decorated in 20 years the staff were nice but really to pay over £100pn for such a dated place is quite poor really
