The Spotlight on Merrion Row Hotel and Public House

Irish Charm Meets NYC Energy Just Steps from the Stage

Modern boutique meets warm Celtic hospitality at Merrion Row Hotel and Public House, located right in the heart of Times Square. With its cozy, pub-style vibe and unbeatable Midtown location, this boutique hotel offers travelers a unique and welcoming stay in the city that never sleeps. You're just minutes from iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall and within walking distance of Broadway theaters, making it perfect for catching a show or concert.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're right where the action is—less than a 10-minute walk from major music venues and subway lines for easy post-show travel. Despite the central location, guests report surprisingly quiet rooms thanks to thoughtful design. The 24-hour front desk is a plus for late arrivals, and the Irish pub downstairs is the perfect spot to wind down after the encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking for a lively, central HQ
Solo travelers catching a dream show and craving a cozy, safe space
Couples making a romantic weekend of concerts and city lights
Fans who want a peaceful night’s sleep after the show
Budget-conscious music lovers who still want boutique style and comfort

Food and Drink Options

Enjoy classic Irish dishes with a NYC twist at the on-site Public House restaurant and bar, open late for post-show bites. There’s also a locally-loved coffee shop right inside the hotel for your morning-after caffeine fix. While there's no 24/7 room service, the restaurant and bar hours run late, and you're surrounded by walkable food options in every direction.

Nightlife Options

Grab a perfectly poured pint at the hotel’s charming Irish pub, or explore the buzzing Times Square nightlife just outside your door. From rooftop bars to hidden lounges, you won’t need to go far to keep the night going.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s friendly staff, stylish rooms, and unbeatable location. Many say it feels like a hidden gem in the middle of Midtown. The Irish pub atmosphere gets high marks for both food and vibe, and the beds are frequently described as extremely comfortable—ideal for a good night’s rest after a long night out.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can feel cozy (aka small)—this is Manhattan, after all. Some guests mention that the lobby and entrance are a bit understated and easy to miss. And while the pub is a plus, it can get a little lively at times, so light sleepers may want to request a higher-floor room.

The Bottom Line

With its unbeatable location, unique atmosphere, and warm hospitality, Merrion Row Hotel and Public House is a top pick for concert-goers looking to stay in the heart of NYC without sacrificing comfort or charm.

Great find in the city

Liked: The location cannot be beat! 2 blocks from Times Square, 12 minutes from Empire State Bldg, we walked to both of our Broadway theaters. They are doing some construction on the street below so there is some noise, but being in the heart of NYC you can expect some- it wasn’t too bad. Generally it was quiet. There isn’t really a lobby- just a person sitting at a stand with a laptop. We were greeted with a smile when we arrived- very pleasant. Our room was on the second floor- we took the very small elevator up because our luggage was so large and heavy. Our room was a decent size for NY. We had a double room- the beds looked like Murphy beds with the stowage unit built into the wall. Regardless, they were both comfortable and we slept very well. The bathroom shower was incredible. It took a while to heat up but the pressure was fantastic. There wasn’t a vent in the bathroom so the stream from the shower was a bit overwhelming, had to open the bathroom door to let it cool off. AC worked great- no compliments, it was quiet so we didn’t have any noise with the unit. We did eat in the restaurant twice - the back dining room was very charming and the food was good.

A great find!

Liked: Great Irish hospitality. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Fittings and furnishings everywhere were beautiful. Beds and pillows were superb.Only 3 floors so a small hotel with good personal attention. Rooms cleaned and towels changed every day. Location for us was perfect. The hotel is next to Irish pubs and only 50 metres to Times Square. Subways were close by. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you Shona and staff, you all were so lovely.
Disliked: The only small points to mention for us were no tea and coffee making facility in our room, which you normally take for granted. We could order at the bar but had to pay for it.Also, we only had a small, thin wardrobe next to the bed and a desk with a chair. Apart from hanging up a few items, we had to dress out of our suitcases. But otherwise, a really lovely hotel.

Great location, nice, but small...

Liked: Our room was quite small, but it is reflected in the price. If you have 2 luggage or a large one you will have trouble finding a place for them. Staff was really nice and the hotel was tasetfully furbished, the bathroom is large espexially in comparison to the bedroom. Breakfast was not included but you get a 25 USD voucher to use in the restaurant.

Good

Liked: Good location, charming spaces, nice decor, very comfortable
Disliked: Thin walls, oddly loud country music in the public areas, small rooms, confusing light controls
