A beautiful weekend getaway!

Liked: I loved the decor and all the special touches that went into the design of the house. I also love that we had reservations for dinner and they knew who we were and took amazing care of us when we had a drink at the bar and then let us know when our table was ready. It felt very welcoming and comfortable.
Disliked: I was a little chilly in my room at night but I grabbed a blanket from the closet to help out. Otherwise it was great.

Liked: My daughter and I visited Picton for a few days away to explore the county and stayed at Merrill House. I loved the little touches that made our stay relaxing and special. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the balcony in our fuzzy robes and slippers overlooking the gardens and trees. Beautiful! The room was perfectly decorated and exceptionally clean. We also liked that it was close enough to the main street to walk to restaurants and shops and to wander by the water at the marina. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We would certainly love to stay again!

Liked: The location was great because you could walk anywhere in downtown Picton for food and shopping.
Disliked: My daughter was in the Futuristic Room and her fridge handle was broken and cut her hand. Her bed was very high and not comfortable. The decor was creepy and weird. My son had the Lithograph Room and they both had issues with their bathrooms. When you try to sit on the toilet your head hits the clear glass shower wall. The only solution was to remember to sit down and get up from the toilet seat sideways. My husband and I shared room 301. There was a flashing spotlight on the front of the building that we had to try to block out. Even with our best efforts, we could see the flash in our room all night long. We couldn't get the temperature control to adjust so it was cold. Also, we had art on the wall beside our bed that was haunting and just starred at you no matter where you were in the room. It was unsettling.

Liked: Perfect location, so clean and modern while still echoing the historic nature. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would definitely return.
Disliked: Honestly this is more of a me problem but I saw someone on TikTok say they had a haunted experience and when we walked into our room i realized we were in the exact same room as her, so i had a really hard time settling and falling asleep because I got in my head. Nothing weird happened and this was totally my fault. Some of the photos of individuals from the Victorian age in the room kind of creep me out a bit which didn’t help. I would totally stay here again though. We were told we had the Victorian room which was the only room left so I also thought that was a bit funny considering it was the exact room the girl on TikTok said was haunted lol

Liked: Lovely interiors and friendly staff. Upgraded on arrival to a lovely room. Great attention to detail and welcome gifts. Would definitely stay again.
Disliked: Wasn’t much to do in the area, but we think we came in low season. Would be better in summer.
