Meridian Hotel

Overall, our stay was fine.

Liked: The location to the train station was fantastic; a brief, 5 minute walk. Overall, the hotel was nice, room was spacious, clean and had a lovely view. The staff, although limited in speaking English, tried to be as accommodating as they could and were kind. The vicinity to the beach was great and my kids also enjoyed swimming in the pool, which was relatively clean and spacious with plenty of chairs available to sit.
Disliked: The temperature inside the hotel was extremely hot. There was no air on in the lobby or restaurant and it made it very hot and uncomfortable. In addition, the air temperature inside our hotel room was not comfortable enough for us to sleep. (And we are not big people) We had multiple rooms in our party, though, the other rooms seemed ok. I did not like that the room temperature is controlled from the front desk. We did ask 3 separate times to have the air cooler in our room and, while the front desk adjusted it from their computer, it was still uncomfortable. Since there are no ceiling fans in the rooms, either, it made it very difficult to have air flow and relief from the hot days. In addition, the in-room mini fridge is nice, but did not keep anything cold, which was also very frustrating when one is looking for a refreshing beverage or trying to keep other food items cool. I also was not a fan of the breakfast, which had few good options and was not restocked well after the first wave of people came through. Lastly, the rooms should be stocked with a few more towels for showering upon check in. (I asked for more, but they brought me hand towels)
