Disliked: Our room was disappointingly small for a 4 night stay.

Very good

Liked: Smart modern interiors, very quiet room, good location, good breakfast.
Disliked: We enjoyed the evening meal but my duck meat was undercooked and too tough to cut. I asked for the chef to cook it for a minute longer and I was told I had to wait for it for another 10 minutes. By then I finished my veges and when the meat arrived it was still not edible. We didn't get any apology from the chef. We paid the full bill.

Liked: This is my second stay within two weeks - and there is reason for that! Superb! Beautiful grounds for those who like to (like myself) mentally unwind after a long week. The rooms are traditional yet effortlessly luxurious with all commodities and facilities you could need. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Just OK, but could easily...

Liked: The room we were eventually given was lovely, with lots of space and comfy four-poster bed. So why were we originally allocated a "feature room" half the size? The restaurant and bar managers were very friendly, and it was good to speak with the new owner and hear of his plans. The Arts and Crafts building is charming, though well overdue for renovations, particularly the original windows.
Disliked: Dinner was very disappointing. Tempura prawns were tasteless, and seemed like frozen food. Likewise the duck main course was a bland, pre-prepared affair. Breakfast was much better. The reception staff, although obliging on the request to change room to a quieter position, made no attempt to welcome us or even smile.
