Mere Court originally built as a private residence in 1903 now lovingly restored into a fine Country House Hotel. Standing in 7 acres of gardens with an ornamental lake in the most desirable part of the Cheshire Countryside but just 10 minutes from Manchester Airport with easy access to the major motorway networks. The Original house offers individually designed and furnished executive bedrooms Four Poster suites one with double spa bath and one with a Victorian claw bath with wonderful views across the lake or gardens. The Lakeside Rooms all have King Size beds; spa baths and are furnished to the same standard as the original house.

It is OK; they need...

Liked: Friendliness on our late arrival.The room was fine.
Disliked: The staff do not know what is going on, we were given wrong information on restaurant closing times and were moved from the restaurant to the bar. Also the time for breakfast given was wrong we were told on check in 9-10:30 when in fact it was 7:30 to 9:00 such that when we arrive for breakfast 30 minutes after we were told breakfast started we are told that it had finished, they did prepare something for us to eat but the attitude of the staff was not particularly friendly about this.

Well-located comfortable hotel with an...

Liked: Excellent meal. Very very comfortable bed. Grounds looked well-laid out.More experienced staff were helpful and pleasant.
Disliked: Female receptionist couldn't have cared less. I mentioned that the doors in my wing banged really really loudly if guests didn't shut them very carefully - shake-the-walls loud. "Oh, right," she said. I know it's not her responsibility, but a basic, "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, I'll mention that to the manager," would at least have let me felt heard.Young male waiter kept calling me "my dear". Sorry and all that, but really not necessary. (Yes, I'm being a grumpy old woman.)
