Lovely staff.

Liked: Lovely hotel and spa in a stunning location.Spa staff were lovely, ran into cleaners in the morning who were polite and friendly.11am check out.
Disliked: Communication between hotel staff wasn’t perfect.I’d booked a twin room with a cot for a 2 year old, upon checking in we had a double bed and a single bed (not ideal for a 2 year old).Checking in took a while. We tried to get a coffee in the morning but this wasn’t easy as one staff said one thing and another staff said something different. Our room was on the 2nd floor and there wasn’t a lift, this was difficult with pushchair and luggage.

Pleasant for a night

Liked: It’s location and the building
Disliked: Not very clean and the old hall felt as if it had been abandoned

A potentially great hotel dramatically...

Liked: The room in the old building was enormous with wonderful views from the huge windows
Disliked: The onsite restaurant was very overpriced. My husband’s pizza was simply inedible. The service was slow and careless. My seared cod loin came as a very small fillet with no evidence of any searing. Others around were complaining. We decided to forego breakfast!

Did not come up to...

Liked: The room was fine the grounds were lovely
Disliked: Rooms weren't close together the bar had no ambience the beer was of poor standard either watered down or unclean pipes. Music in the bar was the music you would expect in a lift. We appreciate it has just been taken over. Hopefully these comments will be seen as constructive.

Amazing - can’t wait to...

Liked: Everything!Rooms - amazing, comfy and spacious. Some have lovely views. Room 4 - fab views, very large and comfortable.Room 29 - slightly smaller in size but equally comfortable. We chose to stay an extra night and were moved to rooms 16 and 17 which were both stunning. All these rooms are superior double. The restaurant served very tasty food - we had an afternoon tea as part of a spa day package.Leisure facilities and spa - very relaxing - we spent the whole day there!Staffing - everyone was great but Nadia at Reception was outstanding, she really went above and beyond to make our stay the best ever. We were treated like VIP’s. Thank you.We will definitely return again.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike!
