Bad
Disliked: Dear Walton Hall Hotel Management,I am writing to express my deep disappointment following my recent stay at Walton Hall Hotel on Saturday 28th June 2025. Based on the hotel’s reputation and the rate of £244 for the night, I expected a comfortable and pleasant experience. Unfortunately, my visit fell far below expectations.Upon my arrival, I was allocated a room that was in a very tired and poorly maintained condition. Most notably, the windows were bolted shut, which created a stuffy and uncomfortable atmosphere. After discussing the issue with staff, I was informed that I had been "upgraded" to a slightly larger room. While I appreciated the gesture, this room was not much of an improvement.Although the windows in the upgraded room did open, there were still significant stains throughout the room on the carpet, duvet, and sofa. This level of cleanliness and upkeep was far from what I expected, especially given the price I paid.To add to my disappointment, despite the high room rate, breakfast and leisure access were not even included. I find it extremely poor value to pay such a premium without these basic amenities being provided.I chose Walton Hall Hotel for a relaxing getaway, but left feeling let down and frustrated. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that steps are taken to address the issues mentioned.Given the experience, I would appreciate a formal response, and I believe some form of compensation or goodwill gesture would be appropriate under the circumstances.Yours sincerely,Harry Summers

We shant be returning there.
Liked: The grounds which we used for the Bentley Summer Party and Concours event were magnificent.
Disliked: Very expensive standard double bedroom - over £300 B&B. Room itself was terrible. lights on walls not working. Rotten wooden window frames. No a/c. Bathroom from 1960s. No handwash or bath shapoos etc - all empty bottles. Bar food was ok but very slow service. Breakfast was very limited and not that great.

Disturbing experience and total opposite...
Disliked: If I could give a zero rating I would. We started out with a terrible check in, I was made to wait just under an hour in the blistering heat as the booking via booking.com had not been received by the reception team and they insisted I wait for it to come though rather than assigning us a room or manually doing it.Eventually the receptionist reluctantly did a manual booking . I Was told breakfast wasn’t included in the rate that we had booked with booking.com , I showed her the booking confirmation that showed otherwise. Receptionist was patronising and less than friendly. Was comp upgraded to a suite however all that glitters certainly isn’t gold and our experience went from bad to worse. It took a long time in excessive heat trying to find room 8 , there was nobody around anywhere to ask other than walking all the way back to reception to be made to feel like we were stupid. We made it to the room, although large with beautiful views this is where the beauty of the place stops. Stains all over the sofas and no good access to mirrors in natural light . Very simple & aged facilities. Damp decay smell to the building we were in. Probably due to the rotting window frames. What really ruined the stay however was shortly before 4am we were terrifyingly awoken by the fire alarm sounding, which, was really startling but what made it worse is that it was impossible to find out what was going on, several guests had tried to contact reception but could not, the alarm was sounding for at least between 5 to ten minutes and it was totally unclear whether we needed to stay out of the room or if indeed there was a real fire. We managed to finally speak to the night reception on the phone who couldn’t and didn’t confirm that it was a false alarm (only suspected). As residents we absolutely should have been reassured there was no fire and what was really happening. No one bothered to come and check on us.

3* hotel at best
Liked: Staff were friendly, grounds were nice
Disliked: I think this is not a 4* hotel for the following reasons: - although staff were friendly, there was no " breakfast is at this time, Spa is here, how was your stay" very basic at desk.- no air con. Even travelodges have air con, and it was so warm so we barely slept. - at dinner, half the menu was unavailable (literally half) so we was restricted on what to eat. - The staff member also moved the air con to face just one person instead of the room. By the end of the meal, several people were fanning themselves. - staff did not wear matching uniform so unable to tell who worked where. - it was a bit run down. The hotel has so much potential to be a 5* but seems to lack the passion or requirements to do so. I just could see so much potential but it just lacked in too many areas. It needs good investment.

Hot & sticky and poor...
Liked: The room was ok but quite small. The breakfast was good, in a nice big room. Dinner was a part of a large function meeting a was nothing special, at £75 per head
Disliked: The small standard double room was very hot and very stuffy, and on the hottest day of the year the air conditioning was not working in ours or other peoples rooms. We had a very poor nights sleep because of the heat and the noisy fan.At £249 per nigh B&B we expected a bigger room with working air conditioning, and would appreciate compensation.

Disappointing. Could be so good...
Liked: On my first morning the gentleman at reception helped me print out a key document. I was very appreciative.
Disliked: I found a big hair ball on the carpet when I arrived at my room. It happens, I just threw it away (although I do have a photo if needed). The corridors are very unwelcoming, especially as a single woman, because the fire doors were open so anyone could walk in if they wanted. However, the problem has been since leaving. I accidentally left my charger and keys. I called and emailed. I received a call saying that if I sent a stamped addressed envelope and arranged for the Post Office to pick it up they would return them. I understand it's not cost-effective to post property but I offered to pay over the phone so the items could be sent that day so I wouldn't have to buy a new charger. I arranged for a courier to go and pick up but asked the courier to wait until I had confirmation that the hotel would, at least, put the items in an envelope. Despite calling numerous times AND emailing twice, no one has picked up or replied. This is a four star hotel supposedly. That's not good enough, it's really poor service. On both nights, the restaurant was busy so I went to the bar to order. I was told to wait until 8 as the kitchen was too busy. I get that. However, at 8pm the queue was incredibly long with newcomers. A ticket system would be good if guests need to wait to order.
