Location is excellent, staff friendly...
Liked: That the Hotel is so close to Central Station for country travellers to walk across the road with their luggage ( I am 62 and found this very easy and simple). The location to the shopping centre a block walk away or the take-away food shops across the road. Everything is at your fingertips.....walk to the trams
Disliked: I requested 2 x blankets for the room as I am always cold - I don't like having the air con up high and with the sliding door to the balcony slightly ajar for fresh air I tend to freeze. The blankets that were delivered to my door were nothing better than to describe as "dog blankets" - rough, small frayed ribbon and simply bloody awlful to touch. Bath towels are small and should be king size - we are not all skinny tiny people who travel!

Liked: The breakfast and the swimming pool are very satisfying. The location is exceptional, quite close to Central station.

Disliked: Cheaper to book through Booking.com rather than at site and staff made me book elsewhere rather than matching or beating price- no fun when you are cold and wet

Promo 20% off food and...
Liked: I attended a wedding outside CBD it's handy to be closer to central station for train commuting. I stayed in Marriot Harbour Hotel a night before my Mercure stay and i can compare the bathroom finishing of both hotels which Mercure had a better bathrooms than Marriot Harbour although room wise Mercure is quiet tight.
Disliked: I booked Mercure due to their promo (early checkin, late checkout and 20% discount in food and beverage) I ordered 2x room service and charged it in room knowing i can get discount from eating at the hotel, upon check out i was told it doesnt apply in in room dinning - Very cheeky! plus the room i stayed 408 had an annoying noise from main door not sure if the door it self or airflow anyhow it lasted half an hour then maintenance came to sort it out and removed something from the door to stop the noise while me busy prepping for my wedding to attend. Inconvinience. I booked Mercure when we first arrived in Sydney knowing we had a good stay, but this stay is less enjoyable.

clean and tidy but even...
Liked: there was a safeclean and tidybedside phone chargershower was good
Disliked: - waited beyond 3pm to be able to check in- terrible view out the window- arrangement of rooms on the floor was difficult to navigate intially- no hot chocolate sachets

Comfortable, clean, light luxury
Liked: The room is a perfect size and in a great spot in the city! Absolutely love staying here have been over 10 times the past year!
