Mismanaged at the Mercure

Disliked: An hour before checkout, my partner was taking a long shower which. generated.quite a bit of steam throughout the room. The steam somehow triggered the smoke alarm, which in turn triggered the external fire alarm. Both my partner and I are non-smokers and have been staying at the Mercure on and off for many years without incident. We were then approached by the manager, a young male about 30 who was the rudest individual I've ever met in my life. He went on to state that we were both liars, had been smoking in the room and would now be up for a bill of 1800 dollars for the fire brigade call out. Oh, and for good measure, he threw in a threat that he would also call the police for what I don't know, but he was insistent that he was going to do so.RUDE, ARROGANT MANAGER RUINED MY MERCURE STAY, I URGE YOU STAY ELSEWHERE.
