So close to the hospital

Nice room for an overnight...
Liked: The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, and there was even a complimentary half bottle of Penfolds wine, a packet of chips and kitkat as well. Noice! The staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from one of the best Thai restaurants on the Sunshine Coast. This hotel is in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital precinct and the Lake Kawana sport precinct. We were attending a regatta at Lake Kawana. It is also very close to the shopping and restaurant area where there is a Coles, Aldi and other shops and cafes.
Disliked: The free wifi was super slow. To get faster wifi you have to sign in to Accor. Yeah nah. The TV was therefore difficult to chromecast to, and was a bit of a muck around, especially when there were two different instructions on how to do a chromecast. Just a smart TV and casting from my tablet is all I needed. The bathroom was quite small and had a walk in shower that had a screen that prevented you from using the toilet and shower at the same time. The shower also flooded the floor if you weren't careful.

Liked: there were a few complimentary snacks which was a nice touch, the bed was comfy, chilled filtered water available on our level for filling drink bottles.
Disliked: I found communication with the staff a little difficult. I emailed to ask about early check in and no response, I called on the day and was kept on hold for more than what my patience could tolerate and hung up, when I arrived there was a small blunder and even though I advised that I knew and understood what had happened, I didn’t feel like I was being heard because I was spoken over and the scenario was explained to me - so maybe he felt he was f being heard… I don’t know.then when we returned back to the hotel we couldn’t find a parking spot, I came to ask reception and no one was round. The person in the bar couldn’t tell me where to park either. There was no call button. I had to wait for about five minutes in the foyer with a tired child. The lady was friendly enough when she arrived back, but it just adds another layer to the story. Finally, at 7:30 am I called reception to ask a question and was diverted to voicemail. When we did early checkout (8:00am) no one was at reception - surprise, surprise.in saying all this, when we did talk to someone they were pleasant enough, it was just hard to get in-touch in the first instance. The air conditioning was a bit loud. my six year old commented “The airplane woke me up”. I didn’t think it was THAT loud but it was definitely present.

Liked: Staff were lovely - very polite.Bed was very comfortable. There was free wifi and parking.
Disliked: Corridors and rooms starting to look as if they need refreshing. The room smelled strongly of bleach.Net curtain at window was grubby as was the upholstery of the armchair which looked worn. Dusty at the edges of the carpet.Grout in bathroom needs refreshing. I commented on this last visit.
