A nice comfortable hotel, but...

Liked: Nice comfortable modern hotel
Disliked: Staff service was quite poor. The hotel did not have enough staff. A simple issue relating to beds was not sorted out over 2 days.

All fantastic apart from eager...

Liked: Rest of the staff where fantastic all the staff at reception as well as the ladies working at the bar, a real credit ! Rooms where spot on ! Pool was fab and they even had complimentry refreshments in the room
Disliked: Cleaning staff tried to come in our room 3 times with their own key, in the early morning when we had till 12 to clock out. From 9am it wasn't till my partner had to go to tell them to leave us be in his nightwear (boxers) , we ended up feeling rushed out by them and left over an hour earlier than planned.

Passable

Liked: Room was spacious and clean as was the rest of the hotel.
Disliked: The television must have had an alarm set and automatically turned the TV on loudly and woke us up. The lift was a problem the doors kept continually opening on 4th floor and wouldn't proceed to anywhere else. Our room was close to the door accessing the lift area so the banging of this door was loud and constant throughout the night.

Nice enough but not quite...

Liked: The location was excellent as we came by train. The lobby is really nice ,clean and the staff look very professional in their uniform.Beds were really comfortable and I slept very well. Breakfast was good. Pool was nice .
Disliked: I asked for a twin room as was sharing with my 12 year old son. Despite receiving confirmation that this would happen I was disappointed to see that the room was made up as a double. It was also a disabled room so the bathroom wasn?t very good : no bath . The sink was too low with no surfaces for wash bags ,although there was a plastic tower but the shelves were too small. I understand changes are necessary if you are disabled but we are not. I wouldn?t have said anything as my son didn?t care about sharing a bed but after goi g for dinner & coming back at 8.45 pm I also realised there was no remote control for the TV. As there is no phone in the room I had set off to the lobby to sort this but fortunately there was a member of staff in the corridor outside who was really helpful. She quickly sorted out the remote and when I asked about the beds she arranged housekeeping to do it before the lady finished her shift at 9pm.These were not big problems but had the room been sorted out in the first place none of that last minute stuff would have had to happen. I have stayed at the hotel before and would stay again as my boys attend swim galas at Ponds Forge and it is a nice weekend away when they do that , but compared to last time it wasn?t quite as good Also ,last time I?m sure the pool times for kids were a bit more flexible.Didn?t matter this time but would have been disappointing had he wanted to swim in the evening .

Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Disappointing given the star rating...

Liked: Friendly staff. Nice pool
Disliked: One lift was out of order so it was very difficult getting up and down due to how busy the hotel was. The air conditioning in the room didn?t work. Mentioned it to reception and they just told us what to turn the dial to but it still didn?t work. Tried to call reception 6 times to report it again but no answer and very busy when we tried to verbally tell them. Shower was broken so water was swimming through the bathroom every time we had a shower.
