Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel

We were put in a room that backed onto the car park, it was very noisy. Also there was no kettle in the rooms so we were unable to make a cup of tea. We have stayed in hotels that cost less and are better maintained and you are better looked after. I would not recommend this hotel and it was out near busy motorways and a £17 cab ride to get to Mote Park.

Liked: Clean apart from the dead flies on the window sill. Lots of parking space.
Disliked: Not good value for money.

Simplest off changes

Liked: The staff were good and helpful, and security was really helpful ..Swimming pool fabulous great steem room spar really good
Disliked: Breakfast poor . . food products bloody awful really poor quality .restaurant also dated 1 or 2 members of staff sometimes multitasking due to lack of staff ..I.e trying to run a busy hotel on skeleton staff ..understand about cutting cost..but not when hotel us busy and it's to the detriment of guest ...shame as it only needs a bit of tweaking and it could improve massively..I can only hope the right people see the reviews. And do something about it ..after all isn't that the point of a review..I stay in hotels on average about 2 t 3 times a week ..and I am constantly watching value for money and see how so many simple things can be addressed .and make an enormous difference in a guests stay important, wouldn't you say

Stayed here 35 years ago...

Liked: The location and facilities. The room was very spacious with a super king bed which was lovely. ALL the staff were extremely friendly and helpful (too many to mention by name) THANKS!
Disliked: Very outdated and the walls are super thin we could hear the neighbouring guests talking but luckily they didn’t stay up too late, so we still managed to get a good nights sleep.

Lovely location, value for money....

Liked: Great consistent breakfast. Very helpful chefs as have food allergies. Pool & jacuzzi working & good temperature.
Disliked: The cleaning staff were not too good at replacing used items.

Liked: The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel is very run down, dirty carpets, dirty paint work, uncomfortable bed, ceiling about to fall in by lift from water leak, dust on tops of doors and paintings, springs gone on chairs. Just dilapidated building needs refurbishment badly.

Liked: Beautiful hotel, staff were lovely
Disliked: No air con in the room....was so hot even with the windows open. Could only open an inch. Very noisy...could here doors shutting, people talking, a party downstairs was loud. Walls were paper thin so could here conversations from next door. Got woken to Lorry's delivering early in the morning. On website it does say that rooms are sound proof. They are not

Exceptional

Liked: The customer service was exceotoonal, especially Steve and Tia who sorted out a booking error on our arrival. Superb
Disliked: We liked everything and booked an extra night
