Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Danella W, Rayleigh, visiting Mote Park Maidstone Mon, 14 September 2015

We were put in a room that backed onto the car park, it was very noisy. Also there was no kettle in the rooms so we were unable to make a cup of tea. We have stayed in hotels that cost less and are better maintained and you are better looked after. I would not recommend this hotel and it was out near busy motorways and a £17 cab ride to get to Mote Park.

Liked: Clean apart from the dead flies on the window sill. Lots of parking space.
Disliked: Not good value for money.

Pleasant stay, comfortable

Liked: the location, swimming pool and the reception team
Disliked: the fact there was a function on the same night and we heard music all the way until midnight then lots of loud talking

Very good

Liked: It was very comfortable and the staff, especially the receptionist, were very welcoming and helpful
Disliked: The noise from other guests outside my door late at night and very early in the morning. I think they were attending a function. I was tempted to ask to change rooms as they occupied the rooms either side and directly opposite.

The money does not match...

Liked: I was disappointed and would definitely not go back! The room was very cold and the whole environment was really cold. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. The staff were okay. The price was too expensive for that kind of hotel. It really needs overhauling and uplifting. Would not recommend it sorry.
Disliked: The room, environment was very cold. The room/ bathroom didn?t have toiletries. Everything was so basic for the exorbitant price charged. We?ve been to cheaper and better hotels. The spa facilities was ok but needs refurbishing.

Very disappointed. Loud functions gone...

Disliked: They put us in a room right outside where they were holding a function that went on till gone 1am. There were children running up and down the corridors knocking on doors screaming and shouting. I made this booking in order to get some rest. However I left more tired than when I arrived. Very disappointing.

A really great very dog-friendly...

Liked: We arrived with our dog and got a great welcome. The hotel had just started doing little treat bags for dogs and Nelly was the first guest to receive one! Nina and Poppy couldn't have been more helpful. The room was ideal, we had a very good dinner at a reasonable price, and breakfast was perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again as it's a great stop off en route to France.
