Good location with comfy beds

Liked: Beds were comfortable and had good in-room amenities. Liked the balcony too.
Disliked: Location was a bit out of the centre but next to the main train station so ideal if you need to catch a train the next morning. The toilet being 1 side of he room and the shower and sink being the other side of the room was a bit weird and inconvenient.

A pleasant stay but possibly...

Liked: Great staff and a comfortable room. The decor isn’t to my taste although the hotel still has a lot of its original character, but the newer furniture and colour scheme seems a bit at odds with its charm. The location is reasonably convenient, but not quite where I would prefer to stay in future. Still, it was overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay and the front desk staff were really nice and very helpful.
Disliked: The hotel could do with a bit of updating, especially in, for example, the bathroom of our room which wasn’t up to a very high standard. The beds were comfortable, though and the room was certainly large enough. The bedroom door separating the bedroom from the vestibule (and therefore helping to block any potential noise from the corridor) is one of my favourite features in a hotel room and one I wish more hotels had.

Big privilege suite was a...

Liked: Special building, not your typical hotel. Location is very central to old Lyon city, but access can get confusing as it's between multilevel structures of road and train station railways. No noise from outside, but you may hear a neighbor room if they get noisy or a child cries. Our room was bigger than what was filed on booking.com, the rooms in the corners of the building are bigger!
Disliked: The gym facility is dull, although fairly equipped. The breakfast experience can be improved with more options and especially more personnel. We went there on a long weekend, the hotel was fairly crowded and the restaurant was understaffed for the breakfast, often lacking bowl, cups and cutleries, or certain food emptied, despite the staff running everywhere to catch up.

Bad

Disliked: The extremely unpleasant experience!!On the first day of our stay, we discovered that the shower drain was completely clogged. I called the front desk to report the issue, and shortly after, a cleaning lady came to inspect. Shockingly, she attempted to unclog the shower using a toilet brush, which was completely inappropriate and highly unhygienic. After I strongly insisted, she reluctantly retrieved proper cleaning tools and briefly cleaned the shower area—but in a very careless manner, for barely a minute. The blockage remained unresolved.Later, I requested an additional pillow since we had clearly booked for three people, but the same cleaning lady refused, claiming the hotel policy only allows two pillows per room. This is unacceptable, as the booking clearly stated the number of guests. When I followed up with the front desk, they assured me that a plumber would fix the issue the next day. As a result, our entire family was unable to shower that night. After spending the following day out, we returned only to find that nothing had been fixed. Upon confronting the front desk again, I was told that the plumber had already gone home and it would have to wait another day. After insisting multiple times, they finally agreed to change our room. However, after I received the new room key and began packing, I got a call from the front desk saying they had given me the wrong key and demanded I come back down immediately. The staff’s tone on the phone was rude and unprofessional. When I returned to the front desk, a female staff member attended to me. I expressed my frustration about all the unnecessary inconvenience caused entirely by hotel staff. She showed no apology at all and was extremely unpleasant throughout the interaction.

Disappointing

Liked: The breakfast was nice but expensive.
Disliked: The hotel was dated, tired and smelt musty. We expected more based on the price and would not stay there again.

Large hotel but uncomfortable

Liked: Breakfast was good
Disliked: Bed was very hard and pillows were flat and so thin that nights were really uncomfortable. Room was small. There was no milk on the make your own drinks tray in the room and only one normal teabag...why?? The location is right by the railway station but there is no signage in the station and it was very hard to find. Staff do know left from right and did not have information on rail closures so we only just made our flight home...they should know hold ups on way to airport!
