Charming, great value for money,...

Liked: Lovely rooms. Fantastic staff and service. Great food. Breakfast was wonderful. Having the use of the gym with steam and sauna was a huge bonus too.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Stayed in the super king room - the bed was massive and super comfy! The curtains had amazing blackouts so there was no early morning sun waking you up!Bathroom was well equipped and really clean! Staff were all really helpful and super friendly! Defo looking already to stay again!

Liked: Staff friendly, room decor good. Breakfast buffet was good. Hotel clean.
Disliked: Advised by Booking.com to ring hotel about refurbishment. When I did the person I spoke to had no idea what I was on about.The bathroom sink did not empty. This should had been noticed before.Our room was not ready at 4.00 pm when we went to Check In, so a different room was allocated.

Exceptional

Liked: Our room was newly refurbished, large and very comfortable. The food was good, the building is beautiful and we had a swim in the Fitness place next door. It we will come a lot more as it’s accessible and one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in.

Very comfortable

Liked: The new rooms are lovely, the beds are very comfortable. The best improvement is the food, both the breakfast and evening meals are unrecognisable compared to the previous ownership.
Disliked: The coffee machine is poor and the extractor fans in bathroom runs for a long time and is very loud.

Had great hopes but staff...

Liked: We were only on the ground floor which was beautiful-apparently just refurbished. The room was so comfy. Bed was so high I couldn’t get up onto itEverything was new and of the highest quality
Disliked: Apart from a lovely reception lady called Lia the rest of the staff were “indifferent” The hotel was very quiet so god knows how they’ll get on when it’s busy. Bar staff and waitresses were more keen to chat amongst themselves than interact with guests. We were trying to have a meal in the bar and at least 5 occasions empty bottles were getting thrown into a bin creating an almighty back. There was no need for that. People were shaking their head. Food was ok but dinner definitely was overpriced. The Fox at Willian is amazing and only a few minutes away so if we stay there again we will eat there. Prices are on a par and much better choices. When we left we could see staff chatting in a room behind reception and the hotel would benefit from a visible manager. We travel around a lot and never have felt more irrelevant. Shame as the hotel itself is beautiful and is a great asset to the area.
