Liked: Loved how open the property was.
Disliked: Could have been a better/easier layout to get to rooms. The back gate leading towards Castletown could have been easier to find, a path leading to the area would be nice.

Liked: Facility is beautiful.
Disliked: Food and drink pricing is a joke. It is actually cheaper airside at the airport. Some staff are nice and polite but those that aren't overshadow those that are. You really need to keep track of your spend because checkout you will get charged more. On the whole the Mercure is a really nice facility that needs to take a serious look at their incompetence.

Liked: The pool looked nice, as did the main part of hotel and staff were friendly
Disliked: There were ants EVERYWHERE in our, on the beds, all over the floor, the walls, door frames, table, kitchen area in cupboard, bathroom, literally every surface. Which really ruined the stay. I understand it’s north Qld, we live in north Qld too but pest control can manage them. There was also an animal in the roof that kept us awake. We also weren’t aware that there was a wedding on and we were located next to some of the guests who were very loud during the night.

Liked: The rooms were amazing Staff was exceptional. Asked for a cot and the staff gave it to us straight away. The wedding reception and staff dealing with our function was amazing. I will definitely DEFINITELY be back. But for a longer stay
