Good value in a vibrant...

Liked: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The area is vibrant and interesting. It's a 15 minute walk to the cathedral, Cologne's main sight, and to the main station.The coffee and tea for sale at reception is a good idea. My room was OK. Comfortable enough and internally quiet. Very good, clean shower. Good value for central Cologne.
Disliked: As others have said, the hotel needs a bit of a refurbish. It has aspects of a four star hotel, but two stars seems more appropriate to me.The area is great but there is some street noise, which may bother some people. The air con didn't work properly in my room, but I liked it that the window could be fully opened.

Disliked: The room is very outdated. Bed was horrible, extremely soft and your upper body just get swallowed by the bed. My back hurts from spending a night there. Bathroom was not very clean and there were spiders on the shower
