The hotel is in a...
Liked: The location is good for going to the theatre, visiting the Naval Museum and seeing the ships in the harbour.
Disliked: The rooms need updating. Getting into the bathtub to have a shower could be difficult for some people.

Very poor
Liked: Location
Disliked: All the rest. It is definitely not worth the money. The location is obviously great but the rest is awful... the room is small, ugly, dirty, I definitely do not recommend... corridors are ugly, the carpet is dirty, not nice smell of "old" all over... plenty far better options within Gdynia, not far from the spot...

Good
Liked: Location was very good, the view was excellent and the staff was very nice. Rooms were a bit worn out, bathroom not so good; the shower in the bathtub where we (old people) had to climb in and then it was slippery to stand in it, the glass ”door” swinged so that the water was all over the floor. Almost no space to but your own bathing/sanitary supplies and equipments.
Disliked: The bathrooms.

Hotel in desperate need of...
Liked: Bar downstairs could deliver wine to room with icebucket etc ... nice. Friendly and helpfull barstaff
Disliked: Stayed on the 8 th floor room 804 from 30/12/2023 to 01/01/2024.. Entire floor smelt like old socks or mould. Room stank - even after opening windows for 1 hour it still smelt. Carpets in corridors were stained beyond belief. Honestly in 30 years of global business travel never seen a Mercure or even holiday inn in this state. It reminded me of 3 star hotel in central china in around 2014. Inside the room most furniture was scratched, stained etc. Bathroom had limited ventilation. TV/entertainments system was tiny and channel reception was awful with basic channels cutting out. Serious hazard was the tray with built in kettle which leaked water all over the table including the extention cord which was behind the TV - an accident waiting to happen. At least the towels and bedding was clean. Overall the 8th floor needs a complete makeover and new ventilation system at minimum. I guess due to location they really don't care as they can keep room occupancy high being next to the beach. The people at reception were rather cold and not welcoming. Restaurant was overrun and the breakfast food choice was rather limited, no bacon just sausages, only scrambled eggs (no boiled, fried or omlettes) 4 coffee machines for around 400 people seating capacity which was completely overrun. Staff was running around just trying to cope as clearly management was unprepared with temp staff. We were 2 people seated at a four seater and the waiter just wiped the other side of the table with his hand brushing all the crumbs etc onto the floor - he seemed happy with the effect, we were horrified. Need to be carefull with shower as the pressure was super high and if you put to hot its scaldingly hot around 60-70 degrees - I could see some kids getting burnt there. The bath was a bath shower combo with a window only covering half the bath instead of a curtain - this probably explains the damp
