Liked: Good location. Clean and comfortable.
Disliked: No Bailey's or Pernod in the bar, had to go elsewhere to drink.

Disliked: We were disappointed that our ground floor twin room was very tired and a but scruffy with stained carpet and tired paint etc .The bathroom inside door was particularly unpleasant xJust all in all not a very pleasant comfortable room .......spoiled our stay a little.

Liked: The rooms were big, and beds comfortable, breakfast was very nice as well.
Disliked: The heating in the room wasn't working, and I had arrived late to the hotel and was tired, so didn't bother telling staff. But once a room is vacated, wouldn't you make sure everything is in working order for the next guest.

Very enjoyable stay

Liked: I always enjoy staying at the Mercure Southgate - friendly, helpful staff; comfortable room; and enjoyed tasty breakfast and dinner in the restaurant.
