Liked: Incredible hotel with amazing location! Views were absolutely unreal! Also wonderful staff and breakfast! Definitely recommend!!!

Excellent spot
Liked: Perfect location! We managed to walk safely around that vibrant part of the city. The tram is a plus!The facilities provided were just fine.

Mediocre
Liked: Location of hotel is ideal and staff are lovely. Food was average however there is an added 10% surcharge on every purchase made.
Disliked: The room we were given we were informed was due to be renewed next. Large bleach stain and strong smell of chemicals in the main bedroom where a cleaner had apparently had a spillage. We complained about this and were offered no alternative or confirmation.

Liked: The location on Princes Street is superb and well accessible for all the key spots a tourist requires. This is the USP of this property. The view from the room looking on to the main street is lovely and in good weather, offers a very pleasant view of the Edinburgh castle. The property, although getting old, is well maintained and the staff are nice and doing what is needed of them to keep this property going.
Disliked: Space.The room is extremely small and uncomfortable. The bed is small with poor quality of bedding and linen. The door is so narrow that your suitcases need to follow you slowly. For the money (supposedly for the name and location), the space and layout of the room is horrendous. It is difficult to manage if you have some luggage and this property is strictly recommended for a business trip only.
