Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel & Spa

Stayed for one night and enjoyed the stay very much. The buffet breakfast was fantastic and my husband and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Liked: This is normally our go to hotel. The location and staff are amazing
Disliked: The aircon wasn’t working, fans in room. Did not get a single bit of sleep due to the noises of the fans

Liked: The decor of the public areas (reception, bar, dining) are clean and modern. Our room was clean and had all the facilities needed including a fridge.The staff were friendly and helpful. Location is good and a reasonable price. The breakfast offer (50% off) was an added bonus.
Disliked: The decor of our room was a little dated but it was clean and it wouldn’t stop me me staying there again.

A hot room.

Liked: The staff were nice and friendly, and the facilities were good.
Disliked: The air conditioner had been disconnected, and on 30 degree days, the room with a western window got so uncomfortably hot. It was about 30 degrees inside our room. At first we didn't even have a portable fan in there, until we asked for one after we moved in. I think it's unacceptable not to have proper cooling.

A very comfortable enjoyable stay

Liked: The hotel was in a great location for the event we were attending, it was very clean, the staff were very friendly, the room was excellent and the air con was fully working, breakfast was plentiful.God knows why there are reviews that say otherwise, we are a couple who expect quality when we stay in hotels so take it from us this is a great stay.

Liked: Big room with great view from 9th floor. Breakfast was good too.
Disliked: The room was stifling got without adequate ventilation. The air on was shocking terrible in fact. The provision of a fan and a portable air-conditioning unit to help was hopeless, too noisy overnight.

Liked: Great communal areas. Bar and restaurant very nice.
Disliked: Booked 2 rooms. Air conditioning only working in one. Temporary fan already in room at check in so problem was already known but not fixed before hand. Room cost was over double the price due to a well known band performing that night.
