Liked: Beautiful quiet location.
Disliked: The room could do with a deep clean. The hotel needs a lick of paint and being more modern.

Exceptional given its post covid!
Liked: Staff were welcoming and personal and always on hand.The room had patio/balcony and was the perfect size.Hotel grounds were beautiful.
Disliked: Due to covid and storm dennis the pool was out of use, breakfast was sterile but extremely basic and there was no ice as the machine hadn?t been deep cleaned. None of this was fault of the hotel - just down to circumstances everyone is in. Thank you so much to everyone - John, Lesley, Karima and Andrew.

Liked: Location right at the start of the trail was very handy. You can do a 10-15 km hike easily. It's right under the hill rendering great views from the patio of the hotel.We had a nice balcony overlooking the garden.The food from room service was good.It was also very empty most likely due to Covid but nice to not be surrounded by people all the time.
Disliked: The hotel is quite dated. Carpets in the rooms are not clean and bring your own slippers - they got rid of all extra stuff due to Covid.Located on an A highway, so even away from London you hear the traffic and sirens.Fridge in the room didn't work.

We discussed our issues with...
Liked: The rooms were spacious with air conditioning. The TV was smart and set up for streaming via free WiFi. The staff were happy to help.
Disliked: The cleanliness of the rooms were less than satisfactory especially while in a pandemic. The floors were dirty and obviously not been hoovered. There were crumbs and dust on the surfaces. The towels were old and stained. The carpets in the hall ways/stairs were threadbare and old.

Disliked: To be fair my comments will be biased as the hotel was not running at full capacity due to the supposed pandemic.So limitations are to be expected.What was dissapounting was the services the hotel could not offer due to a change in the daily running of the business, booking. Com did not advertise on their site.So my rating is not a fair oversight and only based on limitations of stay, just a room.I did get the wrong breckfast though

Disliked: Price was more than booked on your app, confusion when checking in, I was phoned in room at 10pm to say payment had not been taken when I was informed it had a check in.
