Liked: Room, pool, staff.
Disliked: Bathroom needs updating

Liked: Rural location, friendly staff, good breakfastWalkable from local train station. Bar and lounge areas relaxing.
Disliked: Carpets and in room furniture little dated and stained in places. Hand soap container empty and one cup still dirty in room..

Pleasant

Liked: The wedding venue was wonderful. And the staff were very helpful
Disliked: A lot of the wedding guests staying at the hotel, including us had to move rooms due to no AC / rooms smelling

Box hill

Liked: Lovely hotel, rooms pleasant and comfortable. Dining was good too.
Disliked: Paying £10 to park the car for 24 hrs.

Liked: Loved the location, just a few minutes from the local train station and perfect for walking in the hills. Staff were friendly and helpful. Stylish modern decor with lots of places to relax or work inside and garden spaces and the big pool outside. The room was quiet and overlooked gardens to the rear. Coffee tea and biscuits provided. Fridge had space inside if you needed it. Black-out curtains were great. Also loved the nice deep bath and overhead shower.
Disliked: Check-in at 3pm is a bit late in the day. However there was no problem storing luggage until the room was available.

Second visit and was better...

Liked: My second visit here and I had a nice room at the back. As I had been before there was no need to trouble any staff as I knew how to check in and book my car in. Busy hotel with a lot of guests. Room was spacious and very clean. Will stay again.
Disliked: Nothing.

Pleasant

Liked: The setting and location are great.
Disliked: There were two fire alarms during our short stay. One was because of someone having a BBQ in their room which was a concern. The staff did handle it everything well however. The staff were very friendly but clearly over stretched - the service in the restaurant was very slow due to a party in the pool area. The hotel guests we spoke to recommended we dine elsewhere due to the service.

Liked: I loved how we got a balcony and how the room was located in a seperate building to the main one, it felt like we were on holiday outside the uk
Disliked: There was only 1 towel in the room, but weirdly 2 bathroom matsalso I coudn't connect my phone to the tv to watch a movie, it was only able to do samsung phones

Disliked: TV not working Sunday night. reception said maintenance in tomorrow, Monday! tv still not working Monday night! so two night stay. no tv. Bath panel in room 102 needs attention. very grubby. parking. very well hidden the £10/night parking fee!

Great location, clean room, beautiful...

Liked: Nice interior at lounge, room was well cleaned and cooled down before arrival which was lovely on a hot summer day. Bathroom was well equipped with all the basics one might need. The bed was comfy and the blackout curtains wide enough. The garden view from the room was beautiful and peaceful in the mornings. Dined in the restaurant one evening, food was good (fish &chip and a brownie), service seemed to be a bit slow even though there were only a few tables occupied, however the staff were nice and friendly. Location is ideal for hiking on Box Hill.
Disliked: The corridor was squeaky, you can hear people loudly passing by during the night but it might be also due to some of them being careless. Probably due to the self-pre check in system staff literally had no idea who is guest and who is not. On my third day I was questioned by a worried looking young staff member at the pool (was using it before) and was told to read the rules and sign in. Upon leaving at checkout the receptionist was very nonchalant and after saying my bill is all clear he didn’t even say goodbye.
