Excellent few days spent in...

Liked: The location was excellent as it was near my parents who live in Hall Lane across the road. The room was every thing we needed. The staff were very welcoming and chatty.
Disliked: Nothing

Won?t return

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpfulAC in king room (not in doubles)
Disliked: The hotel at the front is run down and shabby.Reception looks lovely but the hallways, carpets and doors were all dirty and stains on.Room was ok, bathrooms need updated as rusty bath and mould round shower. Floorboards and walls are like cardboard, so noisy you can hear any little movement from your neighbours above or to the sideAC was a bonus but only in some rooms as family stayed in a double and they didn?t have it

Remember you are getting what...

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was clean.
Disliked: The whole place is generally tired and not what you expect from the Mercure brand. Rooms were VERY (uncomfortably) warm with no fans or aircon. As others have mentioned, it?s more Best Western than Mercure. No lift working (not a problem to me but it might be for others as it?s potentially a long walk to your room!). But remember it?s not a lot of money - less than 60 B&B for two. Would I have paid more? No. Would I have paid less? Definitely yes. It suited my needs though due to the proximity of where I needed to be. Oh and TV didn?t work. Neither did the second! The 3rd one they brought us did though Lol. No complaints about the staff, they were lovely - just don?t expect typical Mercure standards. Think ?tired Premier Inn?.

You get what you pay...

Liked: The room itself was nice, staff were very friendly, some areas of the hotel were nice
Disliked: Bit of a rough location, doesn?t look nice from outside, was a little rough round the edges. Breakfast was included and ok but not great. Although not sure you can expect much more from a budget hotel

Convenient place

Liked: Convenient place to stay , the bed was comfortable
Disliked: Given the length of the stay only supplied with toiletries and drinks for a day, had to go asking for these and found the seal on the shower and bath leaked and shower head not fully adjustable
