Disliked: Staff not knowledgeable or helpful Room had filthy windows, not great when advertised a great view. Paid for car park, subsequently got a £100 parking ticket. I complained and the person o talked to was rude and belligerent. Not up to Mercure standard at all

Overpriced, uncomfortable and disappointing

Liked: River along the side of the hotel was nice.
Disliked: Very old and tired building. Rooms were ill equipped, there was no wardrobe or drawers, one singular rail to hang T shirts up over the mirror and desk facility. The shower was box room. The room was too small, couldn’t swing a squirrel in there let alone the cat. Couldn’t open the windows. Couldn’t change the air con temperature or fan speed. No fridge. No iron or ironing board and when I asked for it they said there was none available. The breakfast was overpriced, sad eggs, sad bacon, very sad mushrooms and the breakfast area was a greenhouse, I was expecting butterflies to start flying around our head. Generally a 2* if that. Way too expensive.

Liked: The staff was very polite & explained everything, hotel & room was spotlesly clean & breakfast was gorgeous perfect start to our holiday on our way to Southampton.
Disliked: Nothing

Tired hotel in great location

Liked: Position, location
Disliked: Tidy but boring room. Generally hotel is a tad tired, main reception is ok but halls and access to rooms was a bit like a maze, felt grubby and generally very uninspiring.
