Set on 3 hectares of manicured gardens alongside an ornamental lake the 4-star Mercure Ballarat Hotel & Convention Center features an outdoor swimming pool a bistro bar and a lounge bar. Guests also have a fitness center and a day spa to enjoy. Mercure Ballarat is located opposite the multi-award winning Sovereign Hill. It is just 5 minutes' drive from the historic center of Ballarat. Ballarat Golf Course is 13 minutes' drive away. The property is 75 minutes' drive from Melbourne city. Guests can enjoy the Azzuri restaurant or relax with a massage or treatment at the on-site day spa.The lounge bar offers a selection of wine and beer. Pleasant stay away from hustle...

Liked: That it was close to Sovereign Hill. The grounds were really lovely.
Disliked: There was only tea/coffee facilities in the room. No toaster/microwave.

Close to Sovereign Hill but...

Liked: Close proximity to Sovereign Hill, desk is manned 24/7, car spot close to accommodation was convenient.
Disliked: Sadly the rooms had an ant issue, they were everywhere, on the bedside tables, the beds, the walls, it was overall disappointing. We told the front desk and it felt it was on deaf ears. Not what I was expecting.

Enjoyable but disappointed, will probably...

Liked: Good location
Disliked: Room not as good as previous stay, shower, awkward, small, water went on floor. room seemed smaller than last stay.Breakfast was cold, bain-marie not keeping food hot, even when topped up from kitchen food not hot. Staff friendly but when told breakfast not hot gave pre rehearsed reply, "Thank you for your feedback I will pass it on."Cups we used had ants when we returned to room after short absence, found ants in our baggage.
