Liked: The history... the location... the place is beautiful
Disliked: Paper thin walls. I could hear everything from my neighbors, hear everything on street level even at the top level, every horse carriage every jerk in his car blasting his bass beyond a reasonable level, every drunk walking along the alamo sidewalk, and when asked the front desk for a white noise machine or fan to drown it out some they informed me that all fans where sold out. Also The bed was so hard my shoulder ached afterwords... but I prefer a softer mattress so I won?t necessarily fault them on not know my mattress type. Just everything combined for me personally lead for a very expensive disappointing night on my 15th wedding anniversary

I would stay at the...
Liked: Hotel was central to downtown, with Alamo directly across street. Hop-on-hop-off, horse & buggy, and streetcars all in front of hotel. Riverwalk was an easy block away, and shopping mall access on one side.
Disliked: Room was colder than desired, because the hotel is unable to provide either A/C or heat, on demand. Central unit can provide only one, depending on the season. Parking was only valet, unless one finds a nearby park garage. Parking was a bit pricey at flat rate $28 per day, but visitor could come and go with no additional cost (except expected tip). The room was a tad bit smaller and less luxurious than one might find in newer (and pricier) hotels, but I opted for the historic feeling.

Liked: Nothing. Bad hotel.
Disliked: persistent payment issues: 1. wanted to bill off the payment for the whole period /4day/, although according to the rules they could only for a day - $ 230 2. twice bill off at 295 / instead of once $ 230) 3. Bill $ 650 instead of $ 643. to claim a refund - re-bill off $ 643 15 business days passed - $ 295 has not yet been refunded. hours of calls and emails. I dont understant where they return my money. about the hotel - not comfortable bath. it's cold - a historic hotel, so neither heating nor air conditioning. there was an influx of guests - there were no blankets. I do not recommend.
